Making my own tray frame, by soupy on May 17, 2017 14:06:22 GMT 1, i've created my own tray frames before. however, i have used small finishing nails to attach the canvas to the frame backing.
i guess another option would be to put hooks of some sort so the canvas can hang within the tray frame. it would just be a bit tricky getting the correct height of the hook in line with the canvas frame so that it is centered.

Why not use small screws for centring and securing the canvas? Do you think this decreases the value?

No idea if it decreases values, I doubt it but I wanted to know if there was a different way of doing it.
If I have to use the small nails then so be it!

Making my own tray frame, by iamzero on May 17, 2017 17:37:01 GMT 1, You can buy clips for the back of the canvas that screw into the frame and put pressure on to the back of the stretcher bars. Never used them as I always screwed the stretcher bars to the frame directly.
