Anybody know a framer in Stockholm?, by maggotheads on Jun 12, 2017 8:07:22 GMT 1, Long shot since I know there's few Swedes on this forum but maybe someone knows of a member or a place to get stuff framed.
I'm considering reframing all my Rene Gagnon pieces since today one of my frames fell from the wall after the hanging hook decided to let go of the frame. Luckily no damage was done to either the canvas nor anything else but it's getting me worried. It wasn't a cheap frame either but nonetheless.
So, looking for a framer (preferably) in Stockholm (Sweden). Anybody has any tips for me?

Anybody know a framer in Stockholm?, by maxamaxa2 on Jun 12, 2017 19:08:33 GMT 1, Haha me too, my framer just closed her business. But she had some tips so I will probably have some suggestions soon. At the moment I frame the important stuff in england, fantastic job but cant send low value pieces to england So if you find someone thats good and know that a print isn't a poster, let me know
Whatever you do, never hand anything in to hägernäs strands gallery.

Anybody know a framer in Stockholm?, by maggotheads on Jun 12, 2017 19:14:49 GMT 1, I went to sveavagensinramningar.se/ a while ago but was quoted 4.500 SEK (450£) for a basic frame window mounted. Considering all my Gagnons are prints they would far exceed the value in frame than they would in print so I didn't deem it worth it.
I do admit, I don't know what a basic simple frame for a roughly 70 * 50cm would/should go for though? Maybe it's simply not worth framing my Gagnons? I'm happy to pay a little more for the frame but 4* more than the print is a tad high IMHO.

I usually pay around 2000-2500sek for a standard framing with passepartout and uv-glass. Same for floated, but with museum graded glass its about 4500sek. Always a dilemma, but it can be solved by buying more expensive art so that the framing becomes a smaller percentage of the total cost Have a headache over 6 big posters, 6x2500 for framing posters isn't very tempting, but having them behind normal glass and direct against it isn't much better.
Don't like the sveavägens one, only handed one print in to them but think the service and passion was lacking.
Ikea frames gives me the creeps and their glass is a total disaster! Wouldn't even frame a postcard in them Gallerix glass is quite bad too but at least better, haven't found anyone in sweden that sell standard frames with acceptable glass yet and generally its worth handing in to a real framer to get it all done properly even thou its only a cheap print.

I have been buying my frames at bgafotobutik so far and been quite happy with their choice and quality of the frames. 2500 is actually pretty damn reasonable. It would suck to splash out 2500*5 but considering that none of them are getting sold any time soon I might wanna make an enquiry.
Could you share the name of the framer you tend to use?

If you of other Stockholm folks are looking for a framer I highly recommend Kram Verkstad who took over from Jenny’s Inramning. She’s located in Täby and does fantastic work!
Lovely woman to deal with as well and very very friendly!

Anybody know a framer in Stockholm?, by ncewnimw on Apr 8, 2018 18:57:03 GMT 1, 2500 kr låter dyrt. Hur stora prints är det du brukar rama givet det priset? Brukaf rama mina grejer svävande i boxram med plexi och per print landar det allt som oftast på 1500 2000kr beroende på storlek, val av glas etc.

30x22 inch float mounted with art glass ain’t bad at all in my eyes. But at the end of the day it’s all personal preference:)

Anybody know a framer in Stockholm?, by mack on Oct 26, 2018 16:59:58 GMT 1, Maybe a bit late to the discussion but I have been using Ram Fatale on Kungsholmen. He did a very large piece with special UV-glass for about 3 500sek. Have done other larger framings with him which usually ends up around 2 000 - 2 500sek. Only negative is that he's got strange opening hours..
