still madness to me though.

Forum Auctions โข Banksy Marketplace ๐ฌ๐ง, by Harveyn on Jul 6, 2017 16:23:03 GMT 1, So someone paid ยฃ2600 for a Di-faced Tenner with no provenance and someone paid ยฃ3800 for an U/S WSM which I assume had PC certification? The world has gone mad!!!
Did any of the legit prints have condition issues. Some seemed in line with the inflated prices discussed on here but the WSM at that price, the QV @ ยฃ6k and TF @ ยฃ4.8k seem relatively cheap.
What premiums apply with Artsy?

Still a steal for a hand finished Banksy if it had a COA whether it was crumpled and glued down IMO. In a decades time anything hand finished with PC will have a major premium IMO and condition issues to a certain extent will be less of an issue.

Are you saying the WSM was cheap or expensive?
I was looking at the auction, and just came away confused, was surprised at the price of the signed rats.
Shame for the buyers of the Di note, poster, carrier bag and load of tat, when they realise they have bought crap. I was surprised the auction house accepted it, bad form by them in my opinion. It will leave a sour taste I am sure.

Agreed on the bad form.
I was thinking the WSM was cheap in the first place and especially in comparison to a Di-faced Tenner at ยฃ3380. That is just plain silly.

Forum Auctions โข Banksy Marketplace ๐ฌ๐ง, by Deleted on Sept 26, 2017 1:22:17 GMT 1, I cannot help but wonder whenever I see catalogues such as this with signed prints available by some of the biggest names in 20th Century Art for less money than we are paying for recent releases by Urban/Street Artists.
None of us know what the future holds, the collecting itself is enjoyable and suits my obsessive nature but I do get concerned about the long term value of the prints I am buying and think that maybe originals are the better way to go as far as a solid safe investment is concerned.
It all comes down to money in the end though and prints for most of us are the more accessible option and quicker option....maybe it would be better to save that little bit longer for that unique piece?
Just thinking out loud.....
Back to the auction though and some great looking pieces available

Just thinking out loud..... Back to the auction though and some great looking pieces available I've worried about the same thing. OGs are just hard to collect and store if you're not going to put them all on the wall. Prints, on the other hand, are easily stored if you don't have the wall space at the time. I think that's part of the attraction. Moreover, there's the affordability piece.
I cannot help but wonder whenever I see catalogues such as this with signed prints available by some of the biggest names in 20th Century Art for less money than we are paying for recent releases by Urban/Street Artists. Back to the auction though and some great looking pieces available I've worried about the same thing. Back to the auction though and some great looking pieces available I like the fact that people are forgetting the greats for a fleeting moment as there are some great buys to be had at my level of collecting. That is how I picked up a great Peyton litho, auction had hype for many other urban art pieces. Would love an original but out of price range willing to spend.
