Print Storage Advice, by bigv on Jun 13, 2017 2:48:22 GMT 1, Question for those who know more than I do. I've been storing my prints in a 24"x36" Picturesque Presentation Portfolio and my meager collection has outgrown the approximately 30 storage sleeves that came with it (15 sleeves filled front and back). The portfolio was very well regarded 5 years ago on EBeans when I bought it but it's been discontinued so I can't get any more sleeves to add to it. I've purchased some Alvin Archival Sleeves for some larger prints that wouldn't fit in the portfolio so I think they would be a good way to go and could work in a future flat file set up I don't have yet. Also, is there any opinion on BagsUnlimited's Mylar (4mm) bags and .040 Super Acid-Free backing board? I'd love this forum's advice on how you store your prints so I can follow in your footsteps.

Print Storage Advice, by pr.yu on Jun 13, 2017 3:23:03 GMT 1, I'm in a similar boat. I've just started my collection. I bought some Alvin Archival Print Protectors and some Photo corners to keep them from sliding around. I also bought this for under the bed on Amazon to store them, but it hasn't come yet. Any advice from the vets would be much appreciated.

Different boat, same sea. Have the 24" x 36" Picturesque Presentation Portfolio (love it), but in need of additional sleeves to store more prints. Almost had a heart attack when I found out that they no longer make them in that size.
Question: What are your thoughts on re-using sleeves? Would it be ok to wrap a new print in a layer of fresh acid-free paper before putting it in an old sleeve? Or maybe storing two to a sleeve, each print separated by the black acid-free insert that comes inside each sleeve? Desperate times, desperate measure and all that...

Print Storage Advice, by chevyav53 on Aug 25, 2017 15:01:43 GMT 1, I do like the sleeves, I've never reused them so could not give advice there. I still see the 24X36 available, where did you hear they are not making them anymore?
I've also been looking into a flat file cabinet, any experience here with those. See the reviews on the one from Amazon but any addition feedback would be great.

Link? I would love to buy this portfolio; if you know where they are available, would you mind sharing?

Thanks, but I was referring specifically to the 24" x 36" refills that Picturesque used to sell for their 24" x 36" presentation cases. The ones you linked to on Amazon are the same size but made by a different company. They don't have ring holes that would match the rings inside Picturesque's presentation case.

Just got off the phone with Jerry's Artarama. Apparently the supplier that used to make the 24" x 36" refill sleeves for the Picturesque cases couldn't get the size right, so they were dropped. Zero plans to sell them in the future.
