The work is a traditional hand pulled screen print on 330gsm Somerset Radiant White paper utilizing special industrial pigments to produce a metallc and colour change effect for each print. The process required a lot of initial work because of the use of these pigments - in the main getting the mix right of pigment, fixer and varnish due to the inherent issues faced when hand pulling prints and also the degredation faced with multiple pulls over the individual screens.

Traditional print making equipment (one of the largest and oldest printing presses still operating in London) and techniques were used along with the expertise of a Central St Martins and Royal College of Art Print Grad There will be a run of 125 in cobalt blue and 25 in pearlescent, all signed and numbered by the artist. The cobalt blue has the effect of changing colour to violet depending on the light and angle of view. The pearlescent print looks like a metallic cream when viewed face on but changes to a platinum blue, again depending on light and the angle of view.

The prints are 80cmx80cm and will be available in 6 weeks or so from ww.7press.co.uk at a price of £250 - however as a special concession they can be purchased direct from myself [mak_600@hotmail.com] for £150 prior to them going live on the website.

We've had approx 25 pre-orders so far which has been excellent considering this has been just through word of mouth and a mention on www.artofthestate.co.uk

There may be available a very limited number of AP's at a later date as we experimented with 12 different colours but pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed.
