Stik NYC 28th and 29th, by coller on Jun 29, 2017 1:37:18 GMT 1, They were out of prints but he was signing/drawing on books for $40! And the book came with a print in the back that he signed! Really great night (and I'd honestly rather have the book/book print than the show print!) Had to slip a kind VIP a 20 to bring me in, beyond worth it.
Met a UAA member there too, naturally (who knew who I was from my Invader plight haha) - great night!

Gonna go back tomorrow but it will probably be a zoo; that, plus work means I can't get there until 8pm or so.
Had an incredible night, came out of nowhere! I feel very lucky.

Stik NYC 28th and 29th, by sufsean on Jun 29, 2017 2:38:15 GMT 1, Missed print by one due to some line chicanery.
Long story shorty, i was 8th in que for ten prints.
This guy who I'm pretty sure is on this board- walked from street to talk to people behind me- was literally in and out of line- not even in line.
When the doors open- he walked in front of the first person in que- was in line to buy items. People in line had words for Him that he wasn't in line. Again- he was never in line. Anyway- this dude got the 10th print out of 10 and when I said something to him- he pretty much blew me off and justified that someone else did the same thing. He was bragging about his art collection the entire time.
He Was wearing a blue Dodgers hat and think his name was Tam. If anyone has more info on his dude- would appreciate it. Pretty Jerky thing for someone to do- so if he is on here- would like to call him out on this.

Stik NYC 28th and 29th, by Wearology on Jun 29, 2017 5:55:11 GMT 1, Hi UAA, As some of you may have noticed I have purposely been extremely quiet on the forum about the wall on (Allen & Delancey), the show at my gallery (Fat Free Art) and really wanted the art, the wall and the charity aspect (Tenement Museum) to do all the talking. This project has taken almost 12 months to put together and it was truly a collaborative effort between the artist and the gallery. STIK is an amazing human being and genuinely represents the best in the Urban Contemporary Art Movement. It was amazing to meet so many forum members the past few days and I hope everyone that attended the show was able to get a piece of art for their collection, enjoy some free booze and take in the laid back street vibe. As for the forum member who felt wronged by another forum member in the que - it was my understanding that the issue was addressed and that you were satisfied with the results, if that is not the case than please send me a PM and we can rectify the situation amicably. The last thing I would ever want is someone to attend a show at my gallery and feel wronged - especially by a fellow forum member. Tomorrow the show will be open to the general public and it should be another great evening.

For many of us, Shoot, queueing for art is something of a hobby. So going and doing an NY queue would have been an ideal way to while away some time :-)

Stik NYC 28th and 29th, by Wearology on Jun 29, 2017 13:00:35 GMT 1, Everything was sold to the media and vips last night. Sounds like nothing is left for the public, except possibly/maybe one or two books are left. Book is def not a for sure thing either it sounds like. Possibly a pass on this one. I don't want to troll my own show - but I can assure you that there were only 10 prints available for sale and all 10 went to the 1st ten people that qued. VIP's & Media did not buy any of them. They went to forum members, collectors and one guy who was 1st in line who got paid by a UK forum member to stand in line for him. I am that guy and have been for the past 20 or so years who stands in line for Kaws toys, Nick Walker T-Shirts and F5's for lots or print releases throughout the years. I would never just sell 10 prints to VIPS & Media.

This was the case.
I was outside the first 10 but got to catch up with some forumites, meet Stik and a few others - thanks for the evening Wearology
Everything was sold to the media and vips last night. Sounds like nothing is left for the public, except possibly/maybe one or two books are left. Book is def not a for sure thing either it sounds like. Possibly a pass on this one.
