Pejac - Scattercrow print, by highflyer on Jul 11, 2017 8:36:50 GMT 1, A few thoughts. 1. Image. Can't tell if I like it or not; it's pretty flat. It's sort of classic Pejac, but at the same time I don't know how well it works as a print. I was hoping for something more vivid; not necessarily colorful, but with more detail. Something like the below might have played better. 2. Price. Unjustifiable increase. Look at all of his past releases; this spike is sudden and it is not due to his secondary market pricing, which has been strong since Seppuku. He should've had a gradual increase, this is over 3x the last release. 3. Buying. I honestly question whether this will be as hard as you think to buy. I think many will flinch at the price tag and strength of the image, or lack thereof, and if you act quick it might be smoother than expected. We'll see. All in all it's a pretty solid image and I hope those who want it end up securing a print. I'm still on the fence about whether I'll try; been wanting to add a Pejac to the collection but I don't know if this is the one.
Surely this is one of his most detailed prints? Maybe behind Heavy Sea.
You are incorrect on price I'm afraid. His secondary market pricing hasn't been strong since Seppuku. I remember people selling Heavy Sea at cost post release and Wound and Linea sold at a small premium to cost a year ago. It's only this year that prices have seen considerable upward momentum. The last release was a year ago don't forget, it was a third the size for a third the price.
Pricing is fair on reflection. Flippers don't like it.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by Lroy on Jul 11, 2017 10:03:58 GMT 1, and it's not my preferred print. As for some Artworks of Dran, this kind of drawing could be impressive, but the themes are a bit " used " - not easy but - , or childish ( it s not a critic ). I like art that is not so evident at the first glance. And more politics/meaning/rebel. And not obviously beautiful tecbic that students learn in art school.. Here we have nice prints ( the last 3 ones sorted this month ) lovely as we could say. But I prefer a Pomet per example ! And Pomard is one of the best too Just my opinion

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by bagpuss on Jul 11, 2017 10:49:20 GMT 1, The price hike is not justified? So people can sell his prints for ยฃ2500+ on eBay but when the artist charges โฌ1000 it's not justified? Comon these are going to be flipped for twice the price no problem. bwilson, exactly. collectors are willing to pay gbp 2.xxx for his prints on the secondary market, so eur 1k is absolutely justified considering the small edition size and printing technology. only group not happy are the flippers who were looking forward for another big payday with one of the hottest artists these days. but f$%k them anyway. edit: I remember the discussions after the Linea release: edition size was too big for some, flippers were manipulating prices up and down, lots of prints available on ebay compered to rarely one of the small releases before. it was a mess. some collectors (including myself) suggested a smaller edition size and higher release price. seems pejac and max monitor the market quite well... While it is true that prints are being sold on the secondary market for 1-2k, these are in small quantities. The vast majority are owned by collectors and only limited amounts are being offered to the large amount of people that want to own one. Whether there is enough demand for Pejac to sell 80 prints at 1k EUR remains to be seen. I am hoping the steep increase will reduce demand to those who want to own rather than flip and enable me to get hold of one.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by pada1 on Jul 11, 2017 11:49:00 GMT 1, The price is the price. Many variables to take into account, such as the technic used (quality of material and printing company to pay), the artist and his "crew", etc. The "market", i.e. fan base and investors, is also one component but not the only one.
About the image itsef: it's probably not one for all. But at the mean time, Pejac's body of work is already quite big and all his popular art is mainly in the street and should stay there. What becomes a print is more his "gallery" work, what's already on canvad or papers. I could easily define a TOP10 of what i would like to see as print and own, but it's never going to happen (and i don't have enough wall space!). So i prefer let Pejac pick. I am quite sure Scattercrow will grow in lot of people...with time.

I totally agree, and honestly the image you posted is one of my favorites of his. But these are screenshots I took off a few police shields he painted (the video is on his insta) and I think these would be amazing images to turn into a print. They're clever, talented and has his style written all over it I'm going to sit this one out and wait for another one (and hopefully not have to pay double the cost of this print for it ) I'm not sure how easy they would be to translate in to a print. His original triptych would work better but maybe a little less wall friendly.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by thepusher on Jul 11, 2017 13:28:24 GMT 1, Personally, I don't get the Invader hype apart from speculation. Brilliant street artist but the convertion from mosaic to print doesn't make it at all for me
If we consider Banksy and Invader Tier 1, well I would say that he definitely belong to the Tier 2 artists like Connor for example
I guess it will be sold out in a sec this Friday, hype or not

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by stelio on Jul 11, 2017 15:20:05 GMT 1, I was talking to a few freinds about the hype and some of them thought it was overblown as well but tell me... name an artist (besides Banksy) who also is great with stencils, who is an excellent painter, makes sculptures and has amazing execution with almost everything he puts out. In my opinion, Pejac is one breakout show from being consider one of the best in this hobby who actively releases stuff. Clearly in the upper echelon of artists on this forum. I think Pejac would have to quit or retire to stop the hype train at this point.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by natstan on Jul 11, 2017 15:37:52 GMT 1, This Pejac has great ideas and the ability to translate them into captivating images. His works demand thoughts and reflection, especially when you compare him to many other artists on ths board who go the easy way (we know who they are). No doubt any praise for an artist on this forum these days are always treated with suspicion as hype or looked upon as hiding an agenda. But it could well be his ideas are just so damn good so the fans can't contain the 'hyping'.
Considering he is still quite young, at least as far as art career is concerned, I can't imagine what more he can come forth in the coming years.
Full disclosure: I probably won't be going for it due to the price and I no longer own any of his prints (owned a meadow once).

All the talk of pricing is nonsense, this will sell out instantly.
People moaning about the price rise but would also be moaning if they were cheaper and loads of flippers picked them up and had them on eBay. Literally can't win.
I hope to get one but doubt I will.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by nighthawk on Jul 12, 2017 2:44:28 GMT 1, Having had a couple of days to think it over now, this print is priced perfectly. Yes, it a considerable rate of inflation, but his market commands it. Why not have the money going to the artist and management, instead of the flippers?! Hopefully it lands more in true fans' laps, and and on to walls, instead of eBay.
In terms of the image chosen, I absolutely love it!! It's the perfect balance of light and dark in my eyes, while also resonating with PEJAC's ongoing overall themes of the earth and humanity.
In terms of urban/street artists, he is definitely my favourite. I can't wait to see his next solo show, and what he has up his sleeve!
Well done to him and max!!

Even though his career is young, I feel this is a classic example of his work and will grow on people as it ages. I remember Wound copping a bit of flack upon its release. Im in no doubts that this will sell out instantly, but I do hope the price will scare away a few flippers. I would love to make this my 5th framed Pejac!

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by coller on Jul 12, 2017 4:49:54 GMT 1, Alright I've come around on image/pricing lol - the high-res version someone posted on here made me realize the image has a lot more detail than I previously realized, so I think it's actually a really nice print. And I guess Pejac can charge whatever he wants; let him get the money. Still prices some fans out, but that's that I guess; inevitable for someone of his talent. Maybe he can do an open edition at some point.
Have no wallspace so not sure if I'll try, but godspeed y'all

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by pada1 on Jul 12, 2017 4:55:39 GMT 1, What about the image? I would be interested in your interpretation?
I take it as: - fears are ephemeral (the "scatter" of the title leads to it too). - you're your own fear (crows scaring crows).
Wondering also how it relates to the current world topics. Politics, environment?

Courtesy of Juxtapoz mag: "Depicting a silhouette of a lonely scarecrow disintegrating into a flock of birds, "Scattercrow" is a classic example of his subtle visual language and strong messages he is sending out. Poetic and illusive at the same time the image features one of his favorite and most recurring images - birds. As a symbol of freedom and untouched nature, they are emerging from the very same object that was created in order to frighten them away, glorifying the power of nature over human actions. "
All 5 of his print releases so far have had the environment as a core meaning/statement and I think the same thread runs with this.

As a symbol of freedom and untouched nature, they are emerging from the very same object that was created in order to frighten them away, glorifying the power of nature over human actions. " All 5 of his print releases so far have had the environment as a core meaning/statement and I think the same thread runs with this.
