Pejac - Scattercrow print, by Happy Go Lucky Chap on Jul 10, 2017 21:22:40 GMT 1, I like the image but don't like the cost.
Does anyone know if there will be import duty to pay on these shipped to the UK?
โฌ1100 + post + import duty - it all adds up

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by The True Cubs Fan on Jul 10, 2017 21:59:10 GMT 1, I think I want to like this print more than I do. Agree that Meadow is really one of his best, but I do love the new method and evolution for him in terms of making the print itself.

They are shipped from Spain or portugal... so for the next 20 months there is no import duty. So enyoj till it lasts!

Just get multiples. The increase in quantity will make up for lower profit margins.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by Viking Surfer on Jul 10, 2017 23:38:55 GMT 1, Not surprised at the price hike. In line with values and the artists profile. Hopefully this'll reduce the flippers but I doubt it. With respect, what profile are you referring to? Pejac doesn't have a CV on his site, and I've never heard of any major galleries having a pejac show, nor have I heard of any important collections adding a piece of his work. So are we just talking about his profile on here and ebay? Merely referring to his reputation and fanbase.
This forum may well have been the driving factor behind his prices and saleability, but I would never underestimate the power of this forum. It's not the epicentre of the urban art world, not even close, but it does have a great following that has the ability to increase the profile of an artist and inspire many new and old collectors alike.
I'd never rule out how influential various people and the community on here can be.
Full disclosure - I own zero Pejac prints and most likely won't be going for this one either.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by nobokov on Jul 11, 2017 0:09:05 GMT 1, For me, his print editions are not colorful enough to be wall-friendly, but damn, his ideas are pure genius and speak volumes. They're innovative in the way that Banksy is. I just wish he chose to create prints based on Decompression or BeBop. Decompression is my absolute favorite of his.
I'm sure that @artcave would not agree, but I wish that artists didn't use ancient printing methods that drive up the cost of the print. Any artist using Idem, seems to end up with a print edition that's cost prohibitive for me. At this new price point, true the artist is paid, but his audience becomes a completely different wage class. A high-edition with a lower price would've been preferred.....
I don't completely get this new print yet, but I guess sometimes art takes a bit of soaking time to sink in.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by avec art on Jul 11, 2017 0:28:01 GMT 1, you make some nice points there nobokov. But I don't think it is necessarily the fact artistic traditional methods are used that is the main driving force for pricing. Stone lithography is pretty labour intensive mind. I find it hard not to get annoyed with the lithographic set up sometimes because the oily chemicals have a bad habit of finding their way onto my screen prints.

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by coller on Jul 11, 2017 6:00:48 GMT 1, A few thoughts.
1. Image. Can't tell if I like it or not; it's pretty flat. It's sort of classic Pejac, but at the same time I don't know how well it works as a print. I was hoping for something more vivid; not necessarily colorful, but with more detail. Something like the below might have played better.
2. Price. Unjustifiable increase. Look at all of his past releases; this spike is sudden and it is not due to his secondary market pricing, which has been strong since Seppuku. He should've had a gradual increase, this is over 3x the last release.
3. Buying. I honestly question whether this will be as hard as you think to buy. I think many will flinch at the price tag and strength of the image, or lack thereof, and if you act quick it might be smoother than expected. We'll see.
All in all it's a pretty solid image and I hope those who want it end up securing a print. I'm still on the fence about whether I'll try; been wanting to add a Pejac to the collection but I don't know if this is the one.

I totally agree, and honestly the image you posted is one of my favorites of his.
But these are screenshots I took off a few police shields he painted (the video is on his insta) and I think these would be amazing images to turn into a print.
They're clever, talented and has his style written all over it I'm going to sit this one out and wait for another one (and hopefully not have to pay double the cost of this print for it )

So people can sell his prints for ยฃ2500+ on eBay but when the artist charges โฌ1000 it's not justified? Comon these are going to be flipped for twice the price no problem.

You're right but whatever we say I'm sure he chose this price for -the price of the litho technique -discourage flippers, yes 1k is a big amount people won't want to spend without knowing if they can sell it for 2-3k

only group not happy are the flippers who were looking forward for another big payday with one of the hottest artists these days. but f$%k them anyway.
edit: I remember the discussions after the Linea release: edition size was too big for some, flippers were manipulating prices up and down, lots of prints available on ebay compered to rarely one of the small releases before. it was a mess. some collectors (including myself) suggested a smaller edition size and higher release price. seems pejac and max monitor the market quite well...

Tend to agree that the price hike is not justified yet but then the technic of printing etc... Good luck to anyone trying to score it The price hike is not justified? So people can sell his prints for ยฃ2500+ on eBay but when the artist charges โฌ1000 it's not justified? Comon these are going to be flipped for twice the price no problem. bwilson, exactly. collectors are willing to pay gbp 2.xxx for his prints on the secondary market, so eur 1k is absolutely justified considering the small edition size and printing technology. only group not happy are the flippers who were looking forward for another big payday with one of the hottest artists these days. but f$%k them anyway. edit: I remember the discussions after the Linea release: edition size was too big for some, flippers were manipulating prices up and down, lots of prints available on ebay compered to rarely one of the small releases before. it was a mess. some collectors (including myself) suggested a smaller edition size and higher release price. seems pejac and max monitor the market quite well...
