I would rather them take all the risk at the cost of spending a little more. Because with my luck the one time I do anything else is the time I get screwed and left empty handed. I have personally bought and sold many pieces on this forum and I strictly adhere to using Paypal with the only exception being if the seller or buyer is a very reputable member with a long standing history. Additionally, if you have any doubts about a buyer or seller you can always reach out to forum members for references. Just ask. We're here for you.
Think it should be Paypal no matter what. You never know what can happen.

Problem is people assume someone is trustworthy just because they have stars above the name. Other members are quick to vouch for them even if they have never met or dealt with them before.

I can see how that could be a possibility and there is some risk in anything. However, if you don't feel comfortable with something then either don't do it or make sure you have some form of insurance , such as Paypal. My point was that I have felt comfortable with certain members here ( that I do trust and/or have worked with in the past) who have requested other forms of payment and I was willing to accept the risk. As I stated earlier, it is very much the exception. My advice to anyone is as stated above, have some insurance or don't do it. A buyer or seller should not be offended if you want to use Paypal for your transaction if you can work out the fees and it's well worth doing so in my mind. It may cost a little more but everyone walks away happy. |

i was able to track down the seller and my brother met him last night in Phoenix, AZ to get the picture for the price we agreed on. The seller first transferred back my paypal deposit and accepted cash. It took me sending threatening emails in order to get a response. Proceed at your own caution here.
