First of all to be clear love invader's work and been a fan for a long time since i live in his hometown.
However, i don't really understand the recent hype. What is happening to invader prices? I see everyday tons of prints for sale at prices close to Banksy work.
Maybe i missed something, maybe it is his real value but seems a bit fast for me.
How do you see the future of this?
Would be interesting to see this thread in 6 or 12 months to see how it ended.
Anyway just a thought...

It's not just Invader prices that have increased substantially. Banksy, Conor Harrington, Pejac are among artists that have suffered the same fate. Could be a knock on from Banksy's increased value. As his prices have risen buyers move to the next artist down on their list, maybe.
Or re invader it's something more sinister. Could be.

Just as the flipper threads or will Banksy release another print? For what it's worth I think it is invaders time. I don't think it's anything sinister. Invader has been there from the start. And certain galleries have just been buying up all of his work for 6 months/a year, offered very high prices to their sellers so they created an artificial rise in perceived value, then they just held back all the stuff for a few more months, did a show and sold everything for x3 the value they bought it for. It's a perfectly executed strategy. |
