I do think the original idea of emerging/new artists and a commission is a good one. At the "cheaper" end of the market the artists tend to be more interested - and its a chance to make a difference to a new artist.

Although usually at the deeper end I am also at the cheaper end....... |

FB closed groups are nice for this kind of stuff as you can restrict group to potential buyers, have polls, remove people who haven't contributed, etc. and best of all, you can have the artist himself in the group too.

And they can take a very long time, in some cases over a year,so be prepared to put in a substantial amount of time running a commission. That being said, if somehow anyone can lock down a Pejac commission, I'd be in for sure. That's probably the only way I'll get one of his prints anytime soon.

But I do like the idea of commissions. I was a little late to the party for Snik's "Girl in the Red Dress," but IMO it seemed quite successful and the finished work looked stunning. I'm in for more like that!
