Moniker Art Fair - worth the visit?, by suzg on Sept 8, 2017 10:55:02 GMT 1, Hi, I'm Suz and new to this forum, I've revived my love of art recently and saw that the Moniker Art Fair is on in October in London, just wondered if anyone has been to previous ones and what they thought of the fair - I'll be dragging my reluctant other half around so want to make sure it's worth the time! Thanks

Thanks It used to be excellent around 2010/11 when it was at Village Underground and was a proper urban art fair. After the move it morphed into just another pedestrian mishmash of blandness.

That's a bit harsh - it's OK and if you don't go to this sort of thing much it's quite good fun.
I always take my family and get food from the street food market below after plus wander around brick lane etc.
There's always cheap/free tickets available too.

Maybe but it's unrecognisable from what it used to be. It's now run by different people and for me the original 'outsider' ethos of Moniker is long gone. It just feels very similar to the likes of The London Art Fair or the Affordable Art Fair. The stand out fair for me is Frieze, which is just on another level.
