Why would a single drone, on it's own, be hanging on someone's wall, above a child's drawing?
The whole point is that it's a parody of the ducks. Without that "joke" it would just be totally random!
Having said that, he could also have done it like the flying saucer invasion oil painting (shown at Bristol Museum), with some painted into the picture, and some flying out of it. That would work equally well, without the elaborate staging... but then you'd say he was redoing an old idea.

I'm saying it should have been conieved as one drone. Or at least perceived as one drone. That would make the work stronger.
