New York Visit, by atomone on Sept 12, 2017 16:40:00 GMT 1, I've always wanted to visit New York and am finally heading there is 2 weeks time for 6 day break with a mate. He's been a couple of times but i've personally never been and so wanted to sound anyone out if they know of any artist shows / studio visits, gigs or general must do's going on from September 27th to October 3rd.
Sorry if this is a bit of a lame thread but i'm in the dark apart from the usual touristy things so if theres something that springs to mind then any advice would be much appreciated!
Cheers

New York Visit, by JL Broooks on Sept 12, 2017 17:02:47 GMT 1, Head for Bushwick (Brooklyn) and see some real street art. The Bushwick Collective have sanctioned quite a few stunning pieces around Jefferson Street and that area. I believe there are companies running small scale street art tours there as well - cheap and only takes 2-3 hours. Well worth the time and money. Afterwards head to Williamsburg and have some beers

New York Visit, by brycepen on Sept 12, 2017 22:51:36 GMT 1, The highline is a nice walk with art that is always changing. I know you dont want to do touristy stuff, but dont pass on going to the met or any other great museums. Tip for tourists: you dont actually have to pay the suggested donation for entrance to the met. A donation of $3-$5 is normal for locals to pay for admittance

New York Visit, by Buff Monster Fan on Sept 13, 2017 5:02:29 GMT 1, +1 to Bushwick Collective, a must see. Chelsea, SoHo and Lower East Side all have some great Invaders as well. Feel free to DM me and I'll share some of my favorite locations. There are also a few solid Buff Monster murals I'd recommend
Tagliatelle is a solid gallery with a good rotation of Banksy, Invader, Lichtenstein, Warhol, KAWs, etc. Worth a stop if you're strolling the Highline (which I also +1).
Dumbo is cool - totally all optional, but I suggest walking across the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan, hit up Grimaldi's for pizza when you get across (they only sell whole pies, not slices), walk over to Pebble Beach for views of the city then make your way to Williamsburg for a few beers before heading home

New York Visit, by artfulinvestor on Sept 13, 2017 8:40:42 GMT 1, If you have a chance, grab a drink and something to eat at VANDAL on Bowery street. They have a great space which showcases art by Banksy, Invader, Kaws, Retna, Vhils, Tristan Eaton, Swoon, JR, Hush, and others. Have fun!

It's well worth it. All the rooms are great but the main room has an amazing wall by Hush.
