Bitcoin, by ubl on Jul 4, 2022 19:48:48 GMT 1, Bitcoin has never missed a bullmarket after it's halving, so expecting to do another bullrun in 2024. Not to ignore it's going to get worse first.

Bitcoin, by ubl on Jul 4, 2022 19:53:16 GMT 1, What affect do people think this will have on the NFT world? I always assumed crypto and NFTs were closely linked It's only when the tide goes out, you see who has been swimming naked. I guess that applies to all markets. And let's be honest there were/are some horrible NFT projects... 95% of crypto projects don't survive a bearmarket. No reason for it to be different with NFT's.

Bitcoin, by draphael4 on Sept 25, 2022 8:43:22 GMT 1, Hi! Just found out this forum had a Bitcoin section… So I share with you a French project linked with contemporary art. Artist is Leo Caillard (check out his work on Google, I love it). Project is called LCD Lab, and they’re at their second drop consisting of a Rat NFT attached to an authenticated Banksy boxset. You buy the NFT and burn it? You get the physical boxset. As long as you don’t burn the NFT you have access to the Olympus club, I.e. an exclusive art club with alpha calls, advices, raffles…

History repeats over and over again, Jamie Dimon and JPM still have an ambiguous message, countries still balance between adoption and prohibition. The only difference is that today Bitcoin value is 5x higher than in 2017

At its highest point in 2017 it was indeed above current prices.

They have been advised of this by many people, including myself, and have ignored every piece of correspondence, or have replied stating that they believe them to be genuine and will continue selling them, despite Banksy’s own authenticators calling them 100% fakes. They have a never ending supply of these items, all supposedly from the same secretive collector. 1000 box sets would be an investment of around £1m at current prices, assuming that many could be sourced (spoiler: they can’t). Everything about this screams scam, even without the NFT aspect. But on that point, tokenising SOMEONE ELSES ART is a huge red flag.
If you want to invest and get your fingers burned then go ahead, but I will repeat the same comments every time this is shilled here so that others can make their own minds up.

I understand that you don’t like Drouot but that does not tell me why you think they’re fake. I’m a bit lost between 1 person who says it’s authentic and another who says it’s not. What details prove it’s an original or not actually?
the banksy pieces listed behind the link you posted are all « After Banksy » except 3. Maybe why you think they’re fake as they’re indeed banksy-inspired?
in any case I bought the NFT and can only hope they’re authentic as the expertclaims 😇😅🙏

You have bought a fake. The “after Banksy” is an attempt at a legal get-out; the text still states that they were found at Dismaland and are signed by Banksy, which is a lie. The person who wants your money is the one claiming it is authentic; the one trying to save you from getting scammed is the one telling you it’s fake. This is not about me “liking” Drouot or not, it’s about trying to save people from spending money on rubbish. No one has access to 1000 legitimate box sets; the numbers that have come up across all auction houses in the last three years are a fraction of that, and they are not currently for sale from source. Not sure what else I can say, mate…

Bitcoin, by startimeash on Nov 15, 2022 13:59:25 GMT 1, Just overheard on the TV news, Bitcoin is down 75% on what it was a year ago 😂 There have been bigger crashes before. Not a fan of Bitcoin for the environmental impact, but it will bounce back in a couple of years. Newer chains will be the ones to pick up in the bear market - I am in on Algorand and a couple of the tokens in that chain. Ridiculously quick transfers between wallets, and it’s environmentally much more sound. Timing the bottom of the market is impossible, but I would bet that we’re above last year’s Bitcoin high within 5 years. If you buy now, that’s a 300% increase on capital, which ain’t bad.
For the avoidance of doubt, I am a bloke on a message board and not a financial advisor!

Everyone is lukewarm on the metaverse, so spending $15bn on it was a massive mistake. You can't make something a "thing" just because you've thrown money at it. Bigger questions would be being asked of them in the press if Elon wasn't so spectacularly shitting the bed over at Twitter. As someone deeply involved in the tech sector, there are a lot of bad business decisions playing out here as well as the general tech downturn. I honestly think Meta may end up in serious trouble in the next 24-36 months.

Bitcoin, by .dappy on Nov 16, 2022 0:17:23 GMT 1, ... you can't make something a thing ... I would suggest the ipod ... I remember seeing a programme about it ... maybe even an tedtalk ... about how it came about and marketed ... ... there aren't too many though ... macdonalds/burger/fast food ... lea & perrins sauce ... a dyson hoover ... curly wurly's ... roads and aqueducts from the romans ... That wasn’t the first MP3 player, though - the market was there, Apple just added their usual spin to it. The metaverse is not new, either, but there has been no appetite for it outside of gaming. Meta are selling it as the next big thing, when the market has been saying “meh” for a decade. It might be different if it was something brand new, but when one of the big announcements is, “avatars now have legs!”, you have to think that throwing the thick end of 11 figures at it might not be the work of a business genius…
... is it mark's ... liz truss moment? ... thought they new it all ... but forgot to bring the market with them ...
... I would still suggest that the ipod was nothing like anything anyone had ever seen before ... all other mp3's disappeared ...

Bitcoin, by draphael4 on Nov 16, 2022 7:49:34 GMT 1, Yet… some projects keep on building, some coins and tokens keep on increasing adoption. It’s in crises that innovations emerge. I don’t think crypto is going anywhere but this crisis is certainly a good opportunity to separate the good, the bad and the ugly

Bitcoin, by The Italian One on Nov 16, 2022 10:44:02 GMT 1, the stock Market is never been so easy to understand like nowadays.
buy apple , amazon, google, tsla, microsoft and BTC/ETH and you'll be really happy in 2-3 years.
META... too risky at the moment , but "IF" they will be able to bring the metaverse to the people it will be the best investment of the decade.

META... too risky at the moment , but "IF" they will be able to bring the metaverse to the people it will be the best investment of the decade. My long term focus is on rare earth metals and lithium. Albermarle and SQM de Chile are a big part of my pension portfolio. As much as I don't like mining, if we are to get out of the climate crisis even partially unscathed then we will need lots of lithium and lots of rare earth metals. China controls most of the latter, so any western company that finds a rich seam of them will be an amazing investment. Have some money in small cap miners focusing on them; same as the small cap crypto in that if they break out it'll be huge. That's where my money is going, anyway. Like I said, I am just some tit on the internet so don't take this as gospel

Wasn't Facebook's name change and push into the metaverse, just to create a big distraction they used so that people would forget about the whistleblower's leak? I think it was just PR move that apparently worked spectacularly well.

Like I said, I am just some tit on the internet so don't take this as gospel Any concern about water scarcity in Chilean mining regions? Mines waste a lot of water and ore grades are only going to decline as demand increases. There’s a whole bunch of environmental concerns, water included. I think SQM have enough locations across South America that they will be profitable for a good long while. If you’re interested in the economics of the coming couple of decades I’d strongly recommend “Lithium: The Global Race for Battery Dominance and the New Energy Revolution” by Lukasz Bednarski. Hydrogen is also another area to keep an eye on; using renewables to split water into hydrogen and oxygen allows you to store the energy for use later. Of course, both are massively dangerous, so whoever comes up with safe storage and usage for both will make a mint. Interesting times.

Bitcoin, by esmawhite on Nov 18, 2022 22:08:06 GMT 1, What's gonna happen to Twitter? Anyone has some predictions on that one? Is it worth investing in it or do you think it will be dead in no time? Looking forward to hear some opinions on that. Also curious to hear your opinions on online casinos , like this one bestcasinoplay.ca/online-slots/no-wagering-bonuses/. Are they legit? Did someone ever made some cash playing there?

Looking forward to hear some opinions on that That seems a rather risky bet. Buying Twitter was a PR stunt that went wrong IMO… Im not sure Musk knows what to do with it now… and it looks utterly chaotic. BUT he has Appolo Thirteen'd other projects before, so who knows!
...All solid tech stocks (eg Apple, Amazon, Netflix, and Alphabet) are low at present and seem like a safer bet with a potential half decent return in a few years.
*I have no idea what i'm talking about btw, this is my uneducated view on things.
