Why the hate? The whole Gift Shop thing surely is the reason many people that would not have gone to Bethlehem 2 months ago are going there now. So what? They get a glimpse of the whole Israel-Palestine conflict, of the culture, the people living in palestine, that they would not have gotten without that whole Gift Shop thing. All in all it raises the awareness of the people.
Some buy the Box Sets to hang them, some buy them to resell them. For someone from the US for example the whole trip would be so expensive that the secondary market is quite a nice thing. And all in all it is not just a souvenir, it´s a print, purchased in the artist´s hotel and not just any poster bought on ebay or amazon.
Now you tell me your reason to hate on all that?

But hasn't that always happened? I have a friend who was mad he didn't buy a Choose Your Weapon for £5k because it was being flipped straight out of POW when they had sold out. Now those are worth £45k (?).
The real question if your going to pay that much money for something like this is will Pest Control ever give you a COA? For an open edition poster? Probably not. In which case why would you pay that much money for it, 6 months ago you could have got a Silver Flags from Hang up for that much, but not now after one of those went for 10k usd at auction (Juliens?).
It's value is in its novelty and in the unpredictability of Banksy, who has practically given away his canvases in Central Park in the past... so maybe this will one day be a limited edition 1000 Palestine print, who knows? But you'll have to to pay for it one way or another.

No, they did not ship. He left his residence card with some guys he met at the hotel that stayed a bit longer, they got one for him then.
