Bids cancelled. You can see them under “bids.” Very fast buyer remorse ... or somebody not playing by the rules.

Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by Flashback on Nov 30, 2017 19:25:18 GMT 1, They used a delivery company i'd never heard of to deliver a 1600euro 195x115cm canvas to me that was crated the size of a snooker table by them and weighed 56kg. I went down to help them ( I stay 3 flights up) and turns out it was only 1 delivery guy. I helped him to get it out the van and he dumps it. Said he's not insured to carry it up the stair! Cost me nearly £400 in shipping costs to have it dumped at the bottom of my building, not door to door. My elderly neighbour had to help me and it took us 30 minutes to get it up the stairs. Not the biggest fan of FL and wouldn't recommend them personally after that episode. Did you tell FL that it was going up 3 flights of stairs? And that;s what they quoted to do? If i was a courier company, and i hadn't quoted to carry a 56kg crate the size of a snooker table up 3 flights of stairs, I would be dropping it off kerbside. I have heard too many times about carrying stuff up stairs and it scrapes a wall that just happens to be wallpapered at £900 per roll and they don't have the original batch so it will cost £10k to do the lot. if you did tell them, then what was their response No I never mentioned nor did they ask or say there would be any restrictions on delivery. They knew the weight and dimensions for shipping, not I.
If I never came out the guy would've been there a good while just to take it out the van, which if he managed to do, he would've had to keep rolling and flipping it over and over to move it to the doorway, probably damaging the work inside.
Sure a baggage handler at airports can't carry a bag over 32kg so this was insane if not illegal for 1 person to deliver alone.
If you ordered a new suite or coffee table would you assume that you had to take it in yourself? I assume delivery is door to door, not door to building. Especially at that cost.

Will you use a ikea frame and do it yourself ? Even with another frame ? Would you leave to a freamer that you do'nt know your Sales end print ? Is Glass better ( sometimes the print falls on the floor ) or do you prefer plexi ? Is it good to put a frame liner ? I mean this ( see the pic ): TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for your kind answers to my post Anyway nobody have obliged you ..

Now that you see that number, some other ones won't look too ridiculous by comparison.

I think £400 is a good price to fly something weighing in at 56 kg and the size of a snooker table from the UK to the US. did they pick up from the seller and crate it as well for that price?
And yes, if i was living on the 3rd floor and bought a suite and wanted it delivered to my door I would advise the company that i was not living on the ground floor.
What was it by the way? i love big arty things :-)

Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by Lunch Special on Nov 30, 2017 22:01:10 GMT 1, I’m confused by the glitter gorilla? Do people actually think it’s good or is it just cause it’s a banksy? If another artist released something covered in glitter today I have a feeling they’d be trashed. numerous artists including ben eine, pure evil, dface, nick walker and others have, made glitter and or diamond dust prints that have gone over fairly well. Also know for a fact that former forum artist member does the actual printing of said glitter/diamond dust prints.

It was Pejac - Remote control, couriered in a van London to Scotland, so not that far.
I presume it was crated at the gallery along with the other pieces from the show as there was loads of room there. Could be wrong though.
I'll give you that I probably would have done the same for a suite but then again, I know I couldn't get a suite up the stairs myself, whereas I had no clue on the size and weigh of the crate they were sending. For nearly £400 I would still have expected a hand getting it up though.
The fact he said he wasn't insured to take it past the building door, if I dropped it trying and failing to get it up the stairs on my own, would that mean I would be liable?!? Wouldn't be too happy if so.
If I ever used them for delivering a large piece again I would be making sure of all the t's & c's (which I wasn't given a copy of) and going elsewhere if all the boxes weren't ticked.

Banksy • Sale Ends Today, by 68comeback on Dec 1, 2017 9:04:50 GMT 1, My first signed Banksy arrived in the post today! So excited, off to frame tomorrow. One thing that I haven’t seen mentioned is the handwriting on the tube - some impressive calligraphy going on there! I was thinking the very same thing about the hand writing.
