As a result although the auctioneer used the term "I am selling", put the hammer down and said "Sold" they can't sell because the reserve was ยฃ25,000. That leaves a lot of unanswered questions but time to move on. So are there any nice forum members who would like to sell me their Sale Ends V2 or if not something else as I have money to burn! If the seller reads this why not get in touch (Chiswick are happy for us to talk to each other I asked them) p.s Before I get a pile of PM's telling me Topboy (AKA Delboy) has one for sale I don't want to purchase from someone selling for a mate who wants me to meet him in a dark alley with ยฃ22k in reddies.

I had the similar run around with the Grannies. Not a squeak from anyone at Chiswick and then just before sale they sent the image with the burn mark. Classic !

I went to pick up some unsold lots and had the pleasure of being invited into their store room to collect. As shambolic in there as the stories above. Remember grimacing as I saw the face side of a beautiful Katherine Fridriks canvas pushed up against the back of another frame. Literally no protection between any of the pieces. if you're thinking of selling with them definitely take this into account  . They badly damaged one of my frames and fairplay to them they did have it reframed but defo the possibility of having your actual artwork damaged when in with them.. Just my opinion, but repeatedly requesting on here, is only creating a feeling of scarcity and consequently will push prices up faster than is expected for this print, and has resulted in people who didnโt know about the upcoming auctions becoming more aware. The majority of people who frequent this site are lurkers - contribute nothing but are the bedroom dealers buying up stock and pushing up prices amongst themselves- dealers selling to another dealer is more common now than 5 years ago Wrt banksy - this is one of the main reasons for exponential rise we have seen in the last 18months. I think a bit more discretionary tactics will be better for true fans such as yourself.
I hear what you say and you are not wrong. It's a very fine balance between making an offer at a higher price and pushing the market up. I have tried the galleries, but they don't have and those that do either have on consignment and can't get hold of the consignee or don't return my messages.
It's very unusual for me to post looking to buy on here but after the situation I had with Chiswick when you think you have something and it gets taken away from you suddenly you wan't it even more!
