Banksy Liverpool murals sold for £3.2m to Qatari buyer, by Pipes on Oct 15, 2017 1:07:41 GMT 1, Apologies if posted before - but I just came across this.
Five murals by street artist Banksy have been sold to a buyer from the Middle East for £3.2m.
The works, which include his famous 40ft (12m) by 20ft (6m) Liverpool Rat, were sold to a Qatari buyer.
The four other Banksy works that were sold are: Love Rat, Never Liked The Beatles, Secured and Love Plane.
The murals, most of which are on plaster, will be stripped intact off the walls and sealed with a varnish to allow them to be transported.

Banksy Liverpool murals sold for £3.2m to Qatari buyer, by secretartsalon on Oct 17, 2017 8:59:06 GMT 1, Would it be the most expensive piece of art by Banksy (in History) ? As far as I remember, "Keep it Spotless" sold at auction,2007 was the highest, wasn't it?

Banksy Liverpool murals sold for £3.2m to Qatari buyer, by Charlie Bronson on Oct 17, 2017 8:59:40 GMT 1, I don't know anything about this group; but the verbiage wreaks of bullshit. Because, you know, one wouldn't think of checking out the condition of the building when deciding whether to undertake "the most expensive Banksy restoration process to date" with the intention of placing it back once restored. Curious as to what % of the sales price went to which charity.
A quote from their site about Liverpool Rat....
"With growing fears over the feasibility of any kind of preservation, in May 2013 the work was removed to be restored and pieced back together. This is the largest and most expensive Banksy restoration process to date, with 6 months of painstaking work scheduled to bring the giant 34 foot rat back to its former glory.
Despite numerous consultations with building experts, it has become evident that once restored, placing the piece back on The White Horse pub is an impossible task. The building no longer has the integrity itself to support the weight of the piece, let alone the installation process. With spiralling restoration costs the decision has been made to sell this iconic piece with a charitable donation from its sale being given to the Liverpool community. We are delighted to showcase the piece, in its fully restored state at our upcoming show."

If I remember correctly, and I might not so Lee3 would be a better source, 'Keep it Spotless', a collaboration with Damien Hirst(or you could say a defaced Hirst), sold for less than a comparable Hirst-only spot painting was selling at that time.
