Framing, mounts and everything in between., by GE on Oct 20, 2017 20:35:23 GMT 1, I'm taking a number of pieces to be framed tomorrow, pure evils mainly, dface and soups.
What should I be aware of? What glass do you guys generally use? Max value print is probably £900 so not top end prints but I love them.
Any particular mounts I should be thinking of?
Any help/advice would be really appreciated
Thanks

In terms of glass it could depend where they are placed, is it in a room with a lot of windows or not. How much you really love these prints and how high do you want to go on quality of glass such as museum quality... I've definitely spent more on a framing than the actual cost of the piece for larger works and that could influence you.

Framing, mounts and everything in between., by GE on Oct 20, 2017 22:00:51 GMT 1, Thanks for the responses, I have brexit by pure evil with the framer. I love this one more than a lot to be honest so wouldn't want anything to happen to it. The colours are amazing.
The second is union Jacked by Dface
The Third is pure evils evil kenievel
Frames I was thinking of old gold ornate frames, trying to match the old and new? Thoughts on them?
I think they could really work but I'm the newbie so really happy for advice.
I had museum glass paired up with a blonde print which tbf was a cheap one from art carboot.
Not sure how to add pics at present as I've not uploaded anything yet.
Thanks for the advice so far

Framing, mounts and everything in between., by GE on Oct 20, 2017 22:03:02 GMT 1, I've stripped back bits of my landing and stairs for sand blasting so hoping to have a dedicated area for favourite pieces. May need to rotate as time moves on though.
No windows in this area

Framing, mounts and everything in between., by chr1s on Nov 11, 2017 17:31:17 GMT 1, Without question, the best way to hinge works on is with Japanese mulberry paper and wheat paste. Definitely use acrylic (not glass). Given that your prints are not going to be exposed to direct sunlight, UV acrylic is least expensive. The best acrylic (if you have unlimited funds) is tru vu optium acrylic. It is more scratch resistant than regular acrylic. And there is virtually no glare with tru vu. And if you light the work properly it can appear as if there is no acrylic at all - very little or no reflection depending on the lighting.
