D*Face Unique and Incredibly Rare, Price Dropped, by .dappy on Oct 23, 2017 19:53:41 GMT 1, This was never made available to the public and is next to as rare as an original.ย For sale is an rare piece of D*Face art. This is an uncut and unpressed snowboard topsheet from his "Mod" graphic for Rome snowboards in 2011. Rome held a contest where D*Face sent 1 of 3 topsheets to lottery winners, and this is one of them. It's about 180cm tall and would look amazing in a frame. It has multi-layers of printing techniques, matte/gloss/grip tape texture with "spray painted" clothes-pin logo, on a very sturdy PVC laminate stock. Signed at the bottom. There were only 3 of these made, I am not sure if the others are still around. Iโm attaching a link of a sold auction of his standard, off-the-rack boards - you can see that his board art clearly holds value, even the stock versions:ย www.streetartdealer.net/shop/4nrsoi1cejsskyg9zk50ifqsl09h4jIncredibly rare. Based on sold auctions, rarity and uniqueness - a few other collectors have valued this at around $4000-$3500. Iโm dropping the price $400 (previously $2500) to $2100 USD shipped. Let me know what you have. If youโre an eBay guy, reap the benefits - Iโve never sold on there and donโt have the buyer power to sell any item like this. ... it's a printed vinyl piece with a signature on it or am I missing something ... is it rare?

D*Face Unique and Incredibly Rare, Price Dropped, by iamzero on Oct 23, 2017 20:02:34 GMT 1, Like a big sticker with a tag on. I guess it would be hard to value, where have these sold previously and what collectors have given you the figure here? I can only see this being of any interest to a hardcore DFace fan.

D*Face Unique and Incredibly Rare, Price Dropped, by foresterdesign on Oct 24, 2017 1:33:34 GMT 1, I'll give you some more details:
This is a topsheet of an unpressed snowboard from the factory. This graphic is then adhered to the fiberglass and flattened over the wood. It's a laminate stock, with 4 layers of screen printing on it, which was then sent to D*Face to sign and they were given away as lottery prizes only three of the hundreds for those who purchased one of his boards throughout the season.
And let me first phrase - I'm not trying to sound snarky:
I understand that it seems like it's "just" a piece of his graphics, but unless you can go to the Austrian ski & snowboard factory (which has closed down since then), screen print 4 layer separations (gloss, foil, matte and grip tape inlays), and then get D*Face to sign his work - I would consider it pretty rare, wouldn't you?
Plus, have you seen this before? I know it's a niche piece, but for a D*Face fan - this would be a pretty damn unique piece to have in your collection of his work history besides owning the original.

D*Face Unique and Incredibly Rare, Price Dropped, by foresterdesign on Oct 24, 2017 1:36:44 GMT 1, Like a big sticker with a tag on. I guess it would be hard to value, where have these sold previously and what collectors have given you the figure here? I can only see this being of any interest to a hardcore DFace fan. Well that's the thing - they weren't sold. This was literally a lottery item that was never made available to the public besides the other two winners and myself. I got an estimate from a gallery on the west coast that sells unique and boutique pieces and have had a few guys from the MT Marketplace sound off on their thoughts.
It's for a hardcore D*Face fan, but I'm assuming they're out there somewhere and this would be a pretty unique opportunity to own a part of his commercial history.

D*Face Unique and Incredibly Rare, Price Dropped, by iamzero on Oct 24, 2017 7:11:26 GMT 1, Your description reads based on sold auctions implying your asking price comes from some of these being sold before. Good luck with the sale but I fear your price is very high and your market audience very limited at best.

Have you run this by the auction houses? It wouldn't hurt to ask if you aren't getting any bites here.
