The top set was purchased from a member of this forum about 6 years ago.
In the ones I received today. Banging Your Head and Existencilism are both missing quotes on the back cover.
Also the older copy of Banging Your Head has glossy paper and publishing details on the inner cover.
The old copy of Existencilism also has different paper and is half the size of the newer one I received. Yet it still has the exact same pages.
Finally, with Cut it out..
The fonts on the back are different (notice the a & g)
And on the front cover it has some weird mark which is part of print above the T.

True gems and anyone who hasn't taken the time to read through them is truly missing out.
That aside, the originals should all have deep black glossy covers unless they have been through hell and are just worn. I have an almost perfect original set shown below. Any variations from these are just reprints or as we say fakes. But in this case just having the images and pages to read it a solid substitute IMO. I always wanted to create a quality PDF of them to share but would require taking a set apart to do properly. May still do it. Definitely something everyone should read through.

I don't know about quality, but I'm pretty sure Sure someone's made a scanned PDF of each book already. Can look on my HD tonight if you want.
They are excellent books full of great quotes and sentiments (mostly ghost written by Simon Munnery, not Banksy  but great and inspirational nonetheless).
I bought so many of these BITD as xmas presents for friends etc, they were only a fiver. They'll probably have them on Antiques Roadshow before long.

Not sure why the reprints are called fake though? I believe there was an initial run of the three books, then was soon out of print and all in the exact same format. So, I think it would be fair to label any variant books in the mini A5 series printed in addition to that run, "Fakes" or at the very least "Unauthorised Copies". Reprinting these set copies is quite an undertaking so can be easily seen why they would cut corners on production, especially back then when the sets didn't command much in the first place and why some have non-varnished covers, different paper stock and incorrect type / fonts ect. But as I said great reads no matter how you get them. |

I can never express enough how brilliant this set of 3 mini books are. They truly give a massive amount of insight to Banksy's works, thoughts & views as well as a great amount of twisted humor that he serves up so well. For those who have not been lucky enough to get a set, legit or not, I always thought it would be fantastic to have them all in PDF and was actually going to undertake this myself but found someone else already has. Have not seen it posted before so wanted to share it here. Great to download and read at your leisure.
Note: The link will bring up the first volume and you should see the other two on your right. They do ask you to "sign up" to download but it is completely free. I did it and have not received any spam since so it's all clear.

Clearly not as impressive as Maya's other works, but the colors on the Bowery Wall still pop nicely on the giclee.
