I was there and bought last week and gaffa tape was still on mine I thought they did that so you could possibly display with the sections apart.. but have probably got that stupidly wrong The construction method of these has changed over time. The early walls were held together with gaffer tape across the back, the more recent ones have the wall sections glued together.
Agree Graham. I was there a month ago and picked up one gaffer taped and one glued. Just how they come, I guess.

Same here. I found it mildly funny at first, but it grew on me until I ultimately loved it. Visiting the region I found myself thinking back to that movie a lot especially in the caves of Jericho, Herodium and the Judean desert.
I think it is also one of the better executed wall pieces.
No clue about the original though !
