STIK PRINT / ORIGINALS AUTHENTICITY CHECK - REAL OR FAKE?, by FЯ on Oct 28, 2017 10:08:52 GMT 1, As it appears to be getting more common, i have created this one clean thread to discuss or post any Stik prints or originals that are of questionable authenticity
A piece was recently pushed around collectors and was purchased in good faith by a collector (probably a forum member). Had there been a dedicated section to post these items then the purchase would have been avoided almost immediately.
There is also alot of fake stik posters and items appearing on ebay, so please double check here before purchasing. These are cropping up more and more, so much like the Banksy authentication threads this will be equally as useful. If .dappy could allow ebay links on this thread for the purpose of authenticating then it would be useful.
There is currently no official authentication of Stik pieces and you might need to email stik should you not wish to share. However, i am sure he would appreciate people flagging these up in one area for the community to discuss and self police where possible.

Hopefully this thread will help, plenty of people on here with good knowledge.

Which is fair enough. He's too nice/polite for his own good. Back in the day I remember a bunch of people shoving numerous postcards they just bought from the Dulwich Picture Gallery under his nose to sign and he obliged. It felt like a number of them only went on the walking tour to get a sig...
Typically someone had them listed on ebay before I even arrived home that afternoon.
Then there's the sketches and portraits he's done for people over the years. No chance he can verify them all. They're now just lovely snapshots in time for those who genuinely want to keep and appreciate them.
