just like that taking off your shoes at the airport....

Also he has been breaking the mold of what it is like to enjoy contemporary art and to own it. All bets are off my friend, it's a brave new world, and the established rules of the art world have been flung out the window.

They will increase if Banksy gets more exposure, does more exhibitions, or sells more in the auction houses. The sky is the limit for Signed prints.
Banksy was the hottest thing in the contemporary art world in 2006. There are over 3,000 members alone on both Banksy forums, add to that the baggers, galleries, and fans that don't feel the need to blog about this artist and you have a large demand. Even if there are a ton of baggers - the sales and numbers on Ebay don't lie - people are willing to pay for these prints!
Personally I believe the LA prints will be the last Banksy prints we see through POW.

Honestly one of my favorite series by Warhol but his celebrity portraits are still all the rage as far as prices goes. But the Hammer's are pretty bad ass and surprisingly still pretty affordable. 8-10,000 USD at galleries but you can find em at auctions and occasionally on ebay for as low as 4000-5000. The only other Warhol I really want is a Lenin. Would make a nice pair. And hey I love Banksy. I've been trying to get one for a year now. I think he has lasting power. But I just don't understand the demand for these prints. Another example I can think of is Gerhard Richter, an incredibly important painter. You can get a huge original unsigned 61 color silkscreen [EIS II] for about 2 or 300 USD on ebay?!?! (The signed ones go for about 8-10,000USD) Yet unsigned Morons will probably go for 5 or 6 times that. I don't get it. i would love to own a gerhard richter print! do you know of any places outside of ebay that sells them? Thanks, What are you guys smoking over there. I need some.

A gallery in Germany have a Electric Chair print by Warhol for 8000 euro, (~£5000) which is a good copy of this print (lots of contrast). I'm tempted BUT I'd love a Queen Elisabeth II from the Reigning Queens "series" so may keep saving.

Kinda agree with some of the stuff you are saying but agree more with what J replied. And please - no lectures about contemporary art - you will find lots of people on here are very knowledgeable about the contemporary art scene but don't feel the need to demonstrate that knowledge.

It was a foregone conclusion that they'd sell for more than cost, I predict them going the same way as Grannies. At first people may be able to get up to £600 - £700 if they're lucky, and then it'll settle down to around £450 - £550 it depends, if too many people sell the market could be swamped and the price could go lower.

I was lucky enough to get myself an unsigned morons at 4am uk time, was gutted when i read the email 6hrs after it was released, but thanks to this forum I noticed people saying they had got one in the early hours. So as you do I took a look but they were all sold out, came back 10 mins later and I couldnt believe my eyes when I noticed an unsigned one available!!!!!
This post might have annoyed a few people so sorry to all those people that didnt get one and better luck on the next one.
