Kunstrasen 'most is what you make of it' print (finally!) , by Deleted on Nov 14, 2017 18:39:22 GMT 1, than a dog with splashes of paint on and a paintbrush with paint under its paw Does every piece of art need a deeper meaning? If everyone liked the same stuff the world would be a boring place. I do find it funny however how artists with ‘deeper meanings’ often with messages towards today’s capitalist system now sell prints worth thousands of pounds and slot into that same system nicely 😁
No, not at all, its just when someone says they can see deeper meaning and i cant, i'd like to know more

I have a canvas of this because I like dogs and I like art. But maybe there is more meaning to someone else.

Kunstrasen 'most is what you make of it' print (finally!) , by Hairbland on Nov 14, 2017 18:49:16 GMT 1, Sorry for your struggle. No struggle on my end and plenty of ‘deeper meaning’ if you want it to or if you just like a ‘cute image’ it fits that too I promise i am not taking the piss, I have looked and cant see any deeper meaning to this print Help me out with what you see please
I see a colorful Dalmatian wishing it was a black Labrador. Maybe the message grass is always greener? Or a black Labrador painted partially white with spots, perhaps for an advertising campaign, rueing it's fate.

You all know the term "make the most out of life." He wants us to focus on what "most" really is to you and pursue it. The different colors represents experiences, ideologies, skills, convictions, etc. It is the things that mark us and make us unique. The paint brush on the ground represents a new opportunity, etc. The dog is showing interest in continuing to pursue things that are new to him.

Kunstrasen 'most is what you make of it' print (finally!) , by Redbirds on Nov 14, 2017 19:26:13 GMT 1, Pretty close to my interpretation .its in the title
you can either see life - In black amd white and not really embrace it -negative outlook -black and white Dalmatian
Or you can see the beauty of life in all its colors and be grateful -and make the most of what you have -and paintbrush represents a positive future outlook
Or maybe I’m reading into it and it’s a colorful dog - love it either way ..even more so now that I know where light source came from

Subject of the dog vs another animals? Or dogs connection with humans?
Subject of spots of different colors? Idea that one picks the colors? Or is trying to paint certain colors.
Really not hard. I mean honestly I’ve seen people spin works to me almost anything on here!

Kunstrasen 'most is what you make of it' print (finally!) , by RoboJ on Nov 14, 2017 21:36:00 GMT 1, One of Kunstrasens best pieces. I have a blue original and its stunning. Lots of work has gone into these with the hand finishing which is lovely to see. Hope it sells out for him. Ahhh Follow you on IG -that’s where saw light blue original -That piece is stunning -i really like your work as well Oh thank you that's really appreciated. Yes I love the blue but the grey is stunning too. Given the amount of hand finishing these prints are very well priced considering the £ the artist receives vs the amount of input.

Kunstrasen 'most is what you make of it' print (finally!) , by RoboJ on Nov 14, 2017 21:41:37 GMT 1, I struggle to see the point in such art work, you might as well go buy an ‘amusing cute’ birthday card and stare at that I understand what you mean however I feel there is a point to the work. Given life's struggles 'Most is what you make of it'. Kunstrasen's work all has meaning however its not really advertised. You can see it in all his work and it really becomes apparent when you speak to him. He's a very talented and humble guy and his images portray his mind without telling you in bold. Whats great is that work like this is really wall friendly so others enjoy looking at it even if they don't understand why it was initially made.

Horses for courses isn’t really.
I do question the ‘kids room / wall friendly / nice artist’ points personally, seeing them as pretty much irrelevant given how rapidly tastes can change ... but that’s just me.
I find the deeper meanings suggested here, pretty vacuous and birthday card lite, but that s an old cynic worn down by age, work and the inequality in the system!

I was going to write my thoughts but who cares? If I say I don’t like it or I don’t see a meaning in it you’ll tell me I’m wrong.
So here you go.
I find it dull, repetitive, uninspired and derivative. I find it a good example of why stencils have ruined genuine artistic talent and why urban art is sterile and boring at the moment. I find the use of stencils by artists who don’t paint on the street lazy, and I think artists should develop a skill, practice it, and try to become better, rather than just selling prints of every painting they make.
To sum up. Meh.

Only because it’s a stencil?

Kunstrasen 'most is what you make of it' print (finally!) , by Express Post on Nov 15, 2017 0:40:23 GMT 1, SO I guess all those with a distaste for this feel the same about balloon girl. Lol
Interesting point.
It has something to do with the times that we are in.
If balloon girl was made up in the last year, then it would be derivative, dull and uninspiring because of how far stencil/street art has come.
Balloon girl was new and fresh in the noughties. Stencils weren't a big thing then, and was viewed as defacement and vandalism. You got chased by the fuzz. They didn't teach this in art school. It was about having your own identity, pushing the boundaries and crossing that line.
After the last 18 years, stencils/street art has progressed from subvervise to mainstream. Commerce has definitely influenced this.
At the end we should look into the context of any art that has been created, and see how it slots into art history before calling it out. For street art made today, I expect more given the platform that pioneering artists' legacies have afforded the current generation.
In this case the work is safe and accessible, and for the most part will look good on any wall. It has become formulaic.
Its artistic merits and what it stands for will still be up for academic debate.
