Framing PEZ Alter Ego, by joelm on Nov 14, 2017 16:06:19 GMT 1, Hi all,
As a framing virgin I was wondering if I could get a bit of advice. I was recently lucky enough to pick up a PEZ Alter Ego. I've been looking around and am tempted to use www.easyframe.co.uk/ as they seem reasonable. The issue I have is that I've got no idea how to spec it. Should I be buying the conservation barrier board, UV plexi? And what about securing the picture inside the frame?

Framing PEZ Alter Ego, by chevyav53 on Nov 14, 2017 16:27:08 GMT 1, I’ll be taking Alter Ego to the framer but for other prints I’ve been looking forever for an online framing option and have yet to find one. If the piece is a standard size, such as with Fairey’s pieces, it’s easy but anything other I too would love to hear suggestions and experiences.

Framing PEZ Alter Ego, by hui on Nov 14, 2017 16:55:29 GMT 1, I lost my framing virginity to an offset lithograph.
I think the best way to learn is to just read some of the threads on here and then go out and get a few quotes from some of your local framers. Often times, framers will try to work within your budget. You're going to make costly mistakes, but I think that's part of doing this thing. It's been my experience that online is rarely good quality and I always get a good feeling knowing that I'm supporting a local business.

Framing PEZ Alter Ego, by chevyav53 on Dec 9, 2017 1:12:50 GMT 1, Here’s how I went, incl museum glass. Love it, thanks to my framer and Graffiti Prints for this amazing piece. Extatic to have this in my collection. Getting dark here so a straight on hits the light for photo as in center of this room.
