Sotheby’s is delighted to present a unique auction in partnership with Hong Kong Contemporary Art Foundation (HOCA). The auction will raise funds for HOCA’s future exhibitions, events and educational programmes and will feature 32 works generously donated by 29 international artists. Building on the growing global popularity of street art, there will be a selection of works varying in style and media, featuring established artists including Invader, Vhils, Shepard Fairey and José Parlá. HOCA’s goal is to bring art to Hong Kong beyond the confines of a gallery, by curating contemporary art exhibitions and events across the city. A portion of the proceeds of this sale will go towards the funding of the foundation's two upcoming exhibitions, as well as its ongoing programme of film screenings, lectures and public art events. Official website of HOCA: HTTP://HOCA.ORG/

Sotheby's, TAKE IT TO THE STREETS, HOCA Foundation, by treweman on Nov 15, 2017 3:32:18 GMT 1, Yes, the Invader is likely to take the honor of being the most expensive to buy. But looking beyond money, there are a few standouts for me. The Nunca is very sharp, and both the Swoon and the Cyrcle pieces are standouts.

Sotheby's, TAKE IT TO THE STREETS, HOCA Foundation, by timmundo on Nov 15, 2017 3:41:43 GMT 1, A sincere question:
What's up with the serious demand for Invader kits? It's obviously an insane "have" at the moment, and there's nothing wrong with that. Especially for the supply side which is envious in most scenarios.
I own a couple of unsigned Banksy prints, Grannies and Pulp (prob most unwanted of his bunch). And I totally understand why folks would say "no way I'd want that on my wall" sorta stuff. I happen to like... blah. But they ARE on the wall.
So as far as these Invader kits, are they wall material (i've yet to see a real display of them), or are they an investment for true Invader lovers? 4-12k for a kit that can't go on the wall would scare the shit out of me regarding an investment that kinda sits somewhere.
Like I said, a real Q with hopes of being enlightened.
Tim

Tim Yeah, I can understand what your saying. investment wise, one advantage I guess of these types of pieces is that they will surely last well, I mean easier to keep and a print on paper.

Sotheby's, TAKE IT TO THE STREETS, HOCA Foundation, by Matt on Nov 16, 2017 8:56:00 GMT 1, timmundo plenty of examples of frames and mounted kits on here (and no, the ones framed in bags don’t count, they look like plastic covered furniture).
If ou can prove provenance and have the bag they will sell just as well opened as closed (first hand experience)
And to prove I am. It kidding, here is my MSF kit being openend (although admitedly I was scared shitless) to inspect it before what is going to be a complicated mounting process

Sotheby's, TAKE IT TO THE STREETS, HOCA Foundation, by daniel3886 on Dec 10, 2017 13:25:55 GMT 1, Strong result or was the estimate generous to buyers? I don’t know his market so genuine question.
I hear there’s going to be a Zach Monograph out next year. I’ll be happy to add it to my art book collection.
