but would you call it mint next to a shot of a flaw and curling when you say it has been stored flat?
... and maybe i'm wrong on this. just my thoughts. maybe i have things to learn.

and wouldn't this be near mint... since it is certainly possible for it to be more mint.

Yes you are wrong. Mint is not a relative term. If it is 10 years old or 1000 years old, mint is perfect. You are less likely to see mint 1000 year old things, that does not make things with slight damage things become mint.
To me the corner would not be a big turn off. What is, is a seller saying it is mint when it isn't. If he said it is in great condition but there is a minor flaw or softness in one corner, that would be great no issue for me.
As is who knows what else is wrong that you can't see in the pics.

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by misterx on Aug 5, 2011 5:17:40 GMT 1, +1.. I was considering it but between the curling and the right bottom edge I'm scared off. Wonder what the other 3 corners look like
If your averse to curling, do you get all your prints shipped flat??
Ever received a print in a tube? It had curling....
Must make it awfully hard to buy art with that outlook.
Nice print mate...where in OZ are you???

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by Harveyn on Aug 5, 2011 7:58:50 GMT 1, I think I must be missing something here. Most people who know me know that I am fairly anal about damage or potential damage to art but I do not get this thread.
What is wrong with this print.
Are people seriously calling this damage? That will flatten out in hours under weight if you are actually concerned enough about it.
As for the slight curl, again I do not get it. Maybe the print has been stored flat and recently shipped in a tube and hence the slight curl. What is the issue with that? Not one print you receive in a tube would not look like this. The main issue is whether it has been stored in a tube for a long enough period to have damaged the print. I see no evidence of ripples (I might ask a few more questions and for a few more images) and therefore it is safe to assume this has been stored flat most of its life.

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by Heavyconsumer on Aug 5, 2011 8:05:16 GMT 1, mint is mint. any flaw, however minor and whatever its nature, should preclude the term mint from an accurate description imo. mint does not mean almost new or in excellent or very good condition (either in consideration of or irrespective of age). this has always been my take on it anyway. i'm not suggesting this print is not in good shape (i would love to be its new owner, it looks very nice), just reacting to what seems to be debate over something i've always thought was very non-debatable. if it ain't perfect, mint should not be used to describe it imo.

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by bonsai on Aug 5, 2011 10:33:03 GMT 1, Well what a difference a days make just chimed in again. Sorry for the delay.
Look I have nothing to hide here is a link to some more detailed pics. The print has always been kept in this portfolio sleeve. So much so the previous owner refused to send the print rolled for the short trip from Perth to Ballina.
Take a look PM me with questions or offers. I hope a few opinions will not derail the integrity of the thread.

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by Deleted on Aug 5, 2011 19:39:23 GMT 1, Good of the seller to come in with some clarification. I'd say unless you've had something framed since purchase, in the dark then this might be amongst the best examples of this print?
It's long been a favourite of mine and if I had the funds I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by daveart on Aug 5, 2011 20:26:18 GMT 1, Hi Bonsai .. despite the damage that pulls the value of this print towards that of a loaf of bread.... i may still be interested.. i sent you a PM.
Everyone is making interesting points -- mint is mint -- but is mint also 'how it came from the artist' what if it had a printing flaw or bend in the paper or a drop out in the signature. if it was that way when it left the artists hands wouldn't that be 'mint' i have a few prints from artists that arrived in the tube with corner bends/etc.. and struggled with - do you send it back and endure the hassle - or accept that that's what the artist sent you. Could a stop & search ever be called mint if it indeed has a printing error on the thumb ? well yes.. as that's how it came from the artist. its mint. flaw and all. i like the passion some of you guys have.. makes the board worth reading -

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by kingofprussia on Aug 5, 2011 23:58:53 GMT 1, I still can't believe this is still available. IMO this is a Banksy classic at a reasonable price. Of course this comes from a proud owner of this exact print and I thoroughly enjoy it everyday I turn my living room light on in the morning.
Do yourself a favor and pony up for this badboy!!

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by Lunch Special on Aug 6, 2011 0:12:55 GMT 1, I want this print more than anything but in all hinesty, I cant justify more than $2k USD for any UNSIGNED banksy print.. I know I know I know. Its well worth it, But i cant justify it to myself. With that said, the one on ebay just under £2k GBP has a reserve or the seller expects like upwards of £2500 so someone should move on this
Good luck with your sale, I would never let go of a Laugh Now if i had one! or any banksy for that matter
Someone by this, it kiils me to see this available and not be able to buy or afford it
I woudl pay in installments if you offer credit...

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by kingofprussia on Aug 6, 2011 0:21:48 GMT 1, i bought mine for 2200 GBP last year and feel its well worth it. There are only a select few unsigned Banksy's that I feel are worthy of money greater than 2000 GBP and imo this is one of them.

I think time will tell but I'm going to stick to signed only ,& maybe miss out on prints like this !

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by bonsai on Aug 6, 2011 2:43:56 GMT 1, OK here is the conclusion.
I put the "LAUGH NOW" up for sale because I had agreed to purchase the framed Barcode as seen in the "Discolored Barcode print thread" I can no longer move forward on that deal.
That said I will keep the Laugh Now ... for now. I am still not sure what an appropriate price would be given the exceptional quality of the print. Although it has been a great read in relation to what we class as a "mint" or "near mint print".
Many thanks to all who were interested and I apologize for the outcome. I am also a little disapointed considering the low edition on the B.C.

who wouldn't rather have a signed print?? Unlike many of the people out in the world who can afford a signed 'Laugh Now' I can not and must 'settle' for this unsigned print. I'll live.
