HUH??? He isn't dumb at all - Applause lasted a few minutes on POW's website. I think he got a great deal given the prices they have been going for on Ebay.

Silky, is there really nothing you can do to remove arseholes like this?

Banksy Applause Print, by lesroy on Dec 11, 2006 21:22:01 GMT 1, Lol boys... I have bought a few too many prints recently, however, most seem to have been Bargains really.
Ultimately I'll have to sell one or two but only after I've had a long look at them to decide what I want on my walls for a long time.... the Micallef's, Love is in the Air, Weston-Super-mare, Flying Copper& the Hick are all here to stay forever though
bankslovesthec**k ..... Thanx for the input

Banksy Applause Print, by lesroy on Dec 11, 2006 22:03:14 GMT 1, I just fancied having a slightly different one to the UK's after reading Curley's review of them both.
But yeah, these "new LA" prints are falling massilvely in price... everyone would still rather have the old classics I reckon!

Banksy Applause Print, by irf2112 on Dec 12, 2006 20:39:23 GMT 1, Even if you dont put it up straight away - it's nice to have it in 'reserve'. Aswell as displaying prints i also like to collect them - its a part of history - the modern art scene as we know it. I'm sure your in the same boat Lesroy. Afterall if your going to collect something why not collect something that you like.
Alot of my Obey prints dont see the wall - thats because my collection is quite vast. Its almost like collecting comics.

Banksy Applause Print, by RBK on Dec 12, 2006 21:13:05 GMT 1, irf - how do you store the ones that don't grace your walls? I have a few prints (under 8) that I have in a crappy cardboard portfolio, in between acid free paper.
Should I get those mylar plastic sleeves with the acid free paper backing? I'd like to have something (maybe a binder or portfolio?) which I could actually bring out and show/flip through the prints. Anyone's help is appreciated.
This is the best I could find so far: www.dickblick.com/zz169/34/

I'm looking for one of those too, I have too many prints for my wall space... and framing is SUCH A LEECH!!!!!
Bonesy is pretty knowledgeable about the portfolio stuff. We should ask him. I know he's posted suggestions somewhere on this board before, it's quite hard to find that post right now... it was a while ago.

Banksy Applause Print, by RBK on Dec 12, 2006 21:28:40 GMT 1, AgentBacardi - Based on my research I think those are the best - unless you want to spend over $100 for a more formal portfolio with sleeves. But I would like to hear what others say.

I'm looking at that site, and it does look really good! Well, for my purposes anyway. I don't care for it to be formal or fancy or genuine leather etc... I just want my prints to be safe in there and viewable like a flippy book. It's going to be the "staging" area for my prints who are waiting in line for me to afford a frame for them

Banksy Applause Print, by RBK on Dec 12, 2006 21:46:40 GMT 1, That is the only bad thing about those is that they are individual, not a flippy book.
Can anyone recommend an archival, flip-page portfolio that is 22" x 30"?

Banksy Applause Print, by lesroy on Dec 12, 2006 22:15:54 GMT 1, Hey lads,
Just buy the A1 Acid free sleeves first. That way you can flick through all of your prints / show your mates, without damaging them.
The sleeves make your prints completely flat too and stop the dreaded curling.
Then after theat you can buy any old folder you like that fits the sleeves, coz thats the only expensive part!!

That's nowhere being big enough for Applause, huh Speaking of which, any news about yours rk?

Banksy Applause Print, by RBK on Dec 12, 2006 22:20:07 GMT 1, I had a nice chat with Steph - think I should be receiving it early next week. I'll believe it when it is in my cold dead hands!
And Lesroy at $18 apiece for the 22" x 30" individual mylar sleeves, it quickly makes more sense to buy the flip-page portfolio. But does one of that size exist?

Banksy Applause Print, by irf2112 on Dec 12, 2006 23:53:24 GMT 1, As for portfolios and the like - You can get an size A0 sleeve for Applause. I have an A1 portfolio - with acid free sleeves. One tip for a portfolio - go for that's solid (i.e. it doesnt flex or bend like some leather ones do). Also purchase some acid free paper (i got mine from ebay) and cover back and front of prints in acid free sheets - then put them in your sleeves. The POW paper is acid free so you can use that aswell.
The only problem with an A1 portfolio is its best to lay it flat. I have a spare room where i lay it flat on the floor. Ive also switched the heating off in the room. Technically you could put it under your bed - just make sure its not near any radiators or other heating (if you have underfloor heating good luck in finding a place to keep your portfolio.)
For anyone in the UK - I purchased mine from - www.graphicsdirect.co.uk - I found them to have the best sleeves (200 micron)
