Banksy Applause Print, by andrewd on Nov 25, 2006 15:52:24 GMT 1, 'It arrived Friday,' he says casually not wanting to brag or boast. A 5:24 order and numbered mid 400s. Any of you lot framed it up yet? Anyone started up a backyard cottage framing business?

Mine's now at the framers but I'll be lucky if it'll be ready for next Saturday, good luck with your backyard cottaging business ;D ;D ;D

Banksy Applause Print, by HowAboutNo on Nov 25, 2006 18:48:35 GMT 1, To give you people some sort of idea of what I paid for my 4 pictures taken to framers today - one Flying Cop (mentioned as its the closest in size you can get to Applause - and how I have mounted it, it has probably ended up as big as it) It's actually been sitting there a couple of weeks waiting for me to decide and not have it sat under the bed, where frankly it just made me nervous!, two Eine's (Circus and We Hate Eine) and The Hick (akward size largeish print)
All in all it cost me £308 (cop £99, Eine's £68 x 2 and Hick £73) all conservation standards (except for glass) box frames on all, the Flying Copper is double mounted too. All have 1.5" mounts around them, with then 1.5" wooden frames. Will post pics when I have them.
My first year of print buying almost at an end...(managed to keep quite a healthy lid on myself! So many more that I wanted but backed out of, and have regretted ever since) Am still waiting on a D*Face that I ordered about a month BEFORE the show too. Not happy about that as one sold out after the show. Am waiting on D to tell me about a "freebie", so at least thats a bonus.

Wow, so your Flying Copper only cost £99? That's so... cheap, given the size and all! Either that, or the framer I've been going to has been ripping me off My Jack & Jill (in the "Get your banksys out for the lads" thread) was much smaller than the Flying Copper, with just one mount, and it already cost me £80-ish. Time for me to shop for another framer?

Lets see what sort of job he does first! But yes, double mounted and box thingy with spacers and conservation. Am well pleased as had budgeted at least £150 for it.

Banksy Applause Print, by bristolmassive on Nov 27, 2006 18:42:44 GMT 1, Yes- my first banksy arrived fresh from POW on Saturday!...although unfortunately I was away for the weekend and have just picked up from the post office. Non signed number 418/500 - looks superb. I own a fair number of cauty, hewlett, eelus, dolk and d face prints and it's really good to round things off with something as impressive looking as 'applause'. Just gotta save up for the frame!

Banksy Applause Print, by urbantreemonkey on Nov 27, 2006 22:51:55 GMT 1, Ive had my applause for a week now,i really like it but the thing is i dont think i can hang it anywhere, i've got a small flat and not much space to put it up,it really is huge isnt it! i want to enjoy it, not have it under the bed, not sure what to do. The other thing is cost of framing, it would be good if people could post how much its costing them to frame, i cant afford it at the moment and what with space im in two minds whether or not to try swapping it?

I must say, it looks a hell lot better in real life than in the pictures I've seen so far!

Strange, NY is a lot closer to London than LA is. I'm sure you'll get it within the next couple of days, though... unless someone in your office is secretly hijacking it

Now you've got the framing problem! when it's done don't forget to post the pics, it'll be interesting to see what your framer suggests after the success of your J&J.

Ahhh, yeah, the framing problem. Man, it's going to be huge and expensive!! I don't think I'm going to bring in to the framers for a while yet until I get a few more paychecks. So far I've spent money on framing my J&J, Virgin Mary, Dolk's Che and Dolk's Burger King... all within a week of each other! Really wish I could have spent all that framing money on other prints instead, but that's not an option. I'm so spent out for the moment
But sure, after I get it back, you guys will see it for sure!

Banksy Applause Print, by corblimeylimey on Nov 28, 2006 18:47:05 GMT 1, I know where you're coming from, the total cost of framing my Grannies, Dolk's Che and Applause is going to be over £400!
But it's money that's got to be spent, no use in having them in cardboard tubes.

I'm actually thinking of investing in a portfolio, just so that my prints can have a 'transition stage' between the tubes and the framers. That way, I can take my sweet ol' time in raising money for framing without having to worry about the prints being rolled up in the tubes.
Is there a size that can fit Applause though?

Largest portfolio Ive seen is A1 in size... Applause is a lot bigger...Still you shouldn't really have any prints in tubes.
