Harland Miller • Armageddon, Is it too much to ask, by mash on Feb 7, 2018 23:04:10 GMT 1, Same old hype I’m afraid. Look at the happiness prints! Thank god i turned them them down at teir 3. They have dropped value like a stone... I’m sure I saw people/ dealers asking 18-20k now I could buy one tomorrow at 12... small 8. Mr miller sort your prices out and f**kthis teir pricing crap out the window!
HM prints were on tiered pricing in 2014 with White Cube, think they started with3k then, the Happiness at Manifold was I think 6800 when I bought which was quite far on tier four or even 5. I think the prices jumped then a bit but probably you’d need to pay 9-10 for the smaller one now. The reason I write that is I just don’t think it’s hype. It’s more a quite steady growth. I dare say these ones in time will be less popular than Penguin ones but that isn’t hype and this time last year you could pretty much take your pick of those at 4-6k even from source galleries like Other Criteria, Reflex, I think White cube had a rags at 3k last spring I agonised over.
For me personally, I think it’s a great print and I’m not bothered if it’s worth 6k or 16k.

Ok but surely you do care if it’s worth 6k and you pay16k.

With respect this is false equivalence. I meant I don’t mind if the value doesn’t go up as I didn’t buy as an investment.
Anyway ive contributed to derailing the op’s thread which wasn’t my intention.
Apologies, OP,

Harland Miller • Armageddon, Is it too much to ask, by campfire headphase on Jun 10, 2018 15:15:25 GMT 1, There’s nothing wrong with flipping. Especially a Harland miller print. Very sought after and worth the resale value. There’s is not one member here who does not try and make a profit off their art based on market value. Anyone who says other wise is a hypocrite.
This! People shame members who want to make a profit. I’m sure they don’t want to lose money when they sell. They need to STFU.

Harland Miller • Armageddon, Is it too much to ask, by Everyone Owes on Jun 10, 2018 22:54:42 GMT 1, Just open your own gallery. Members here don't give a f**kwhen countless galleries rip off art collectors (even the one's at the top of the page). But when you try to sell some overflow or just need the money, the art police will come knocking. With the same tired lines. Trying to shame you into selling your pieces for cost because they missed out on a release. Like the guy who called me out for the prices on my Harland Miller chairs after I turned down his "generous" offer of $125. I'm not forgetting a zero. He actually offered me 125 dollars and had the balls to post in my thread four more times calling me a "ripoff artist".
Someone's touchy. Go back to flogging your deck chairs.

Nope, just a fan of common sense. The last thing someone should do is shell out a lot of kwon on a piece and sell it at costs or at a financial loss here on the boards for another forum members benefit so they can hold and sel it for more later. Expecting a return on your purchase (if that is a motivating factor) isn’t a crime and shouldn’t be vilified.

Wait, you registered for the boards nine hours ago, and this is what you decide to get into?! 🤣😂

Oh yeah, absolutely! There is no right sequence of posts for a public platform such as this. I’m free to comment when it suits me. You know, exercise the same right to speak freely as everyone else does here. Just want to chime in about hypocrisy on the boards with the hate for trying to make a profit selling your own pieces. If you hate profiteering off your art sales, please dm a list of work you’re willing to sell for below what you paid and want to lose money on?

I’m just guessing that with this much “knowledge”, you’re most likely an alt, and have had to resort to creating a new account to continue your crusade.

I still cant understand why he did these two in slightly different size.. Yours look great framed like you have them, and greatly hides that fact/...but my OCD radar would go off the scale if i had them hung together..
Best of luck with the sale though... they look great
Here are images of the Harlands I have for sale. Excuse the reflections. I have other close up photos of edges and signatures if interested. Thanks for the interest
