Hand cut veneers or machine cut?

  I assumed it was a painting and that's down to the fact that whoever posted this couldn't be bothered to give a brief description of the technique.

 That happens far to often on here where a gallery etc just posts an image with a link without bothering to post any information about technique.

 I like Adam Neates art and he makes some inspired pieces. In some ways his reliefs remind me of some of Archipenko's art. Which is good.
