Prints tolerance to cold weather / room temp, by Lord Lucas Roham on Dec 11, 2017 10:53:54 GMT 1, I have just purchased and framed a reasonably expensive print (£20000+), it's been float mounted, 300gsm Somerset paper.
It's been hung in my front room on an external wall which in all honesty is pretty cold.
I am way with work a lot and the room isn't really used during the winter when the outside temp -8 (as it is today) the room barely gets above double figures, that's with the central heating on.
Is there are issues with this as regards the prints capacity to handle low temperatures? The room is not damp and there is no condensation.
Anyone experienced any issues or have an insight?

Thanks, yeah it's an older house. 1850's so no cavity wall.
I may move it to an interior wall during winter to be on the safe side.

Prints tolerance to cold weather / room temp, by .dappy on Dec 11, 2017 11:30:21 GMT 1, ... also put some pads on the bottom of the corners of the frame, just to take the actual frame off of the wall and allow for some air circulation ...
... protector cushioned pads for a £1 from Poundland ... the ones you can put on the bottom chairs of legs ...

Prints tolerance to cold weather / room temp, by purpleandred on Dec 11, 2017 11:36:05 GMT 1, What dappy says. I bought a variety pack of clear rubber stick on pads which I've put on all my framed prints. If there's airflow then damp isn't going to an issue. Check amazon as there are loads of sellers flogging these little rubber nubs.

Prints tolerance to cold weather / room temp, by Cocteau 101 on Dec 11, 2017 19:31:47 GMT 1, Is your internal wall plaster boarded or is the plaster directly onto the brick. If it is plaster boarded it would be worth checking if insulated plasterboard was used.
