Bound to make a few bad choices along the way, but still seems to sell out most editions and hasn't done too badly for himself. The only losers are the flippers.

Truth is I love his work and output-I've got an original 2011 Change AP on the wall, with a personal message from Ben to me and my other half tagged on the back - will never sell it.
More recently, have framed up the 4 x LOVE lenticular postcards which'll also outlast most other pieces on the wall that get replaced and updated.
Big props to him, and continued success.

The Big Issue stuff was for charity, so kudos for that. If he were to raise funds for the homeless with Xmas decoration or whatever paraphernalia, I would deeply respect that.

Very well said. His works are fun but how many letters or variation of letters does one want. He needs to evolve beyond the letters or at least evolve the letters or as you said hastening his own demise. From what I have read and seen in interviews seems like a great guy so hate to see him fade away.

I was in college at the time of the LA riots, and remember when he made this statement on the evening news. To this day, I have never understood why people made fun of him for it. It was a tearful cry from the heart - a simple yet powerful appeal for brotherhood. This print misses the mark, unfortunately. |
