Nice - GLWS if you know recent prices - might as well state what you are after? Ah yes thanks. Have had an offer at 39K GBP from a gallery that I feel like I should probably take. Have also already had knuckleheads offering me 25K USD and I'm like please go away.

For Sale Banksy White Nola - New York City Area, by Hubble Bubble on Jan 17, 2018 13:35:17 GMT 1, Sorry to hear.
Was it definitely Matte burn and not paper yellowing/bleaching? Either way, it's a lesson for sure. The paper stock on many B prints is often very fragile esp where ageing and light is concerned. Mine are all floated with 100% of the paper on show.
I hear more and more stories of removal from frames with this type of result. Hope you get it sorted.

For Sale Banksy White Nola - New York City Area, by corinthia on Jan 17, 2018 13:42:59 GMT 1, For what it is worth I was seriously engaged in the purchase of the print. The member was great to work with and we were both surprised by the condition report. As a collector sometimes condition expectations can be unrealistic. Especially on some of these older prints. The print is in great shape and the image is not effected at all. I have no doubt someone will enjoy this print.

For Sale Banksy White Nola - New York City Area, by Unica on Jan 17, 2018 15:35:39 GMT 1, I feel sorry for the OP, he tried obviously to protect his print, another reason to float frame. Hopefully it can be sorted. I like the idea of sending it to a conservator for a report, may I ask who offers this service.

For Sale Banksy White Nola - New York City Area, by rodgro on Jan 17, 2018 16:48:37 GMT 1, Hi all. Iโm certainly not trying to hi jack this users sale thread but can someone please help me here as Iโm a bit confused on the level of condition being discussed here. Iโm by no means a Banksy expert but from what Iโve been able to gather a good portion of these prints were originally sold for 50GBP back in the day. What is todayโs expectation of condition for prints that are nearly two decades old and were sold for so little? I understand that large creases, etc would be a problem with determining value but a matte burn and conservation reports? While I understand that a current buyer wants as nice a print as possible when they are spending tens of thousands of dollars, euros, pounds, etc but realistically how many people spent many times over what the prints were sold for to frame them to conservation standards or the insight to put them away in archival sleeves/files back in the day so that 20 years later they are perfect? Itโs all very interesting. I guess where I am going with this is that it looks like this Nola is no longer worth 40K GBP, but it surprises me that the thread just seems to drop off like it was either perfect and worth 40K or it wasnโt as is worth nothing. Iโm sure thatโs an exaggeration, but what does a โmatte burnโ do to the value of this print and who makes that determination? Thanks all. I hope my rant/questions were respectful.

For Sale Banksy White Nola - New York City Area, by anodyne13 on Jan 18, 2018 5:25:08 GMT 1, Most of the edition of these are in good condition because they were known to be worth something when released so damage to the print will discount the price significantly. Iโm no expert, but I would say the burn in described above probably discounts 25-30%.
In the case of very early Shepard Fairey prints for example most of the available prints have some sort of damage because people did not think they were valuable at the time and didnโt treat them as art/collectors items so the market price has some of the damage built in. The pristine example will then fetch a premium to the typical price.

For Sale Banksy White Nola - New York City Area, by wisky on Jan 18, 2018 22:10:11 GMT 1, Cut corners?! How have you left it with that framer? Left it with my insurance company. They are looking to determine whether they intend to take a run at him. That's the thing that aggravated me most. I was adamant about it being done to conservation standards. Mylar hinges 10 years ago? Almost no framer used them. Then you screw up and use non-conservation matting? Just a warning to you all, also a warning to make sure your art is covered by a good insurer. I would be sueing that framer for the current value of the print, what is the name of the framers?

I am in NYC as well pfffffffffft and i am an expert, feel free to PM me, i would buy or even just assist and send you to the only conservator you should consider.
