Social media is fine. The video above says it all. It's the companies behind social media and how they manipulate what can and cannot be said, also depending on who their investors are.

The worst is people actually worrying about not getting likes on social media. That's very sad that the companies sell this you are nothing if you don't get likes bullshit to people who are easily influenced being mainly the youngsters who use social media.

Buying followers is a show regarding peoples desperation to be someobody or some sort of z list celebrity in the minds of the public.

The police or cops or fuzz or pigs or rozzers etc have become thought police and knocking on peoples doors when some people post non PC posts or criticise some governments policies. They should be out policing the streets and responding to real crimes not wasting time on social media but there again the police do whatever the government in power tells them to do.

Good things about social media. At the moment the protests in Iran will spread via social media. Hopefully the people will change the government to one run by humane people.

Plus of course Donald Trump tweeted his support for the protests via social media.

People should stand by what they say, what they post, and not hide their identity. It's created a twisted world full off opinions and views, but giving no idea if they are real or where they come from.

I have an FB account (but am logged out, it's toxic) and I use an alias - FB wanted me to change my name to my real name but I explained to them my safeguarding issues because of domestic violence - my children's and my safety has to come first - so they allowed me to use something else.

The way in which people can no longer organise anything without facebook.

Last week I logged back in briefly after three months absence to discover a friend has been in hospital for two months.

I use instagram and I have twitter, the former I use a lot and the latter I rarely use.

I like how on instagram, I can connect to strangers who are into what I'm into or am doing. Ditto twitter but I find twitter is less productive.

Facebook however, appears to be this tool with which people unwittingly shun others who don't use it.

I am not particularly in touch currently with most the 'friends' I have in facebook, for the simple fact that once you are out of sight, you are also out of mind.

When I do log in, I discover I've missed events like weddings, births, deaths, gatherings and gigs.

I do my best to what's app those for whom I have numbers, and I fb message others. But they only really get involved when they see you posting to your wall.

THAT is what social media does. If you're not a part of it, you're an outcast.

I'd rather be an outcast, currently, than repeatedly lose myself in a facebook hole and reemerge hours later having achieved nothing.
