New JR Prints, by Deleted on Mar 30, 2019 16:00:38 GMT 1, I find there are many members of this forum that think unless something is a screen print it is no good. Giclees are often seen as cheap substandard prints yet in many cases offer the artist the best way of reproducing their work. These lithos are not industrial lithos they are fine art lithos using a very different technique. I've seen lots of JR prints in the flesh and they do have a different, softer quality to them but I actully like the end product. Is "softer quality" a polite way of saying they don't capture the detail very well?

Looking at both my walking migrant and large louvre prints, they're both somehow quite detailed while remaining "soft."

I just don't think the way he goes about doing it does his work justice.

New JR Prints, by dogstar on Mar 30, 2019 17:24:23 GMT 1, Really surprised a photographer of his calibre is not using C-Type prints. He does for his large format pieces.
Point with these Social Animals prints (and others created at idem) is that they're supposed to look 'soft', that is the artist's intention.
To say they're 'poor quality' is as stupid as complaining about overspray on a Banksy print.
