Breakfast/Brunch/coffee, try Ozone Coffee Roasters on Leonard Street. Underrated in my view. Italian - Bottega Prelibato is a small chain but I always quite liked it. Right across the road from Tramshed on Rivington St.

London food, by Midula Dey on Jan 23, 2018 22:45:25 GMT 1, Its got to be Tayyabs in Whitechapel for Indian, then I'd say Sutton and sons for fish and chips, Islington, stoke newington and Hackney. Mangal 2 in Dalston for Turkish with the added bonus of seeing Gilbert and George having a munch. I'm Lahore's - their lamb chops and lamb kebabs and chicken and dahl rock. Did you see the G&G exhibition?

London food, by Midula Dey on Jan 23, 2018 23:09:04 GMT 1, Love food - too much of it!
The Ace Hotel is easy, and Andina (Peruvian food - great food throughout the day)
Patty Pun - the double cooked fries rock (there's one off spitafields on the way to Shoreditch).
Clutch Chicken on Ravenscroft is great - they do gravy too - you can get some art in too (Ben Eine, The Rolling People, Sweet Tooth - which I think has been painted over..... and some other stuff too)
Dishoom is okay for breakfast but prefer the dinner there tbh but didn't see many kids there in the evening.
More family friendly indian and (the food is great, they started off in Broadway market) is Gujarati Rasoi in Dalston. You can jump on the bus gujaratirasoi.com/our-story/
Or in June there will be a bunch of weekend food stalls around Brick Lane and the near the Big Easy near the Truman Brewery there are lots of stalls and food places - if it's not raining it's a great option.
Best Thai has got to be Som Saa off commercial street - they started off at a pop up at London Fields. Food is amazing, and great drinks too. It's on a walk in basis unless you have a big group where you can reserve ahead.
There is also a great Burmese place (Lappet) in London Fields, and a good, cheap Thai there too under the arches - can't remember the name (just watch out for the salad burnt my tongue off!!!)
Good place for aussie type brunch is Grainger & co - the best one I've been to is the one in Clerkenwell (plus the Caravan chain does a similar thing but prefer Grainger & co.) Kid friendly and really relaxed, so you can have a drink without worrying about the kids.
Or scrapping the above you could try one of the markets Broadway market (but really busy and has become way too commercial) or Maltby Street (again busy but great craft beer and gin places to water your food down)
Finally completely off piste.....is The Butcher in Broadway Market - best lamb chops & oxtail I've had (though not super kid friendly so to speak but they are super sweet in there)
