Gonefellow π¬π§ Print Release β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Deleted on Feb 23, 2018 11:52:18 GMT 1, Once upon a time there was an Urban art association member that suddenly and with no prior announcement produced a picture of a Sincura van carrying lots of banksy art that had been acquired from the street
This was done as a bit of a laugh and we ... laughed
it was funny, clever and also very good
The banter then went onto, 'well mr member dude this is so cool i would like a copy for my wall'.
I lose track here, but i think a print was then done by a print house and people bought it
This is where i make stuff up as i dont know fact but......here goes
A gallery that likes art and witty stuff saw this members parody and thought, oooh, i like this, so he contacted the member and said, hi Mr member dude would you like to do more funny and witty stuff, i like this kinda shit and i have a spare slot for an artist, lets have some fun
And they lived happily ever after
ps
Sincura are c**t

They wear a mask and a red rose, each carrying a brown paper bag, one containing a sandwich and the other a cheque
They meet near a duck pond and swop bags on a park bench
Not a word is uttered
or maybe he wires the dosh to him
I think gonefellow is American isnt he?

Gonefellow π¬π§ Print Release β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by moron on Feb 23, 2018 12:16:15 GMT 1, ... this place is becoming a conspiracy theorists haven π of course and created by Banksy media PR team for banksy and created by Gonefellow and his mates and CG for Gonefellow. It's designed to create attention, create publicity and to sell extremely bad art in the case of Banksy at least.
same as when Saatchi sold the shark and crap to the public via PR and same as when Emin shit the bed and sold it as art too.
Funny thing is that people buy into this stuff.
Thousands for a shrigley doodle novelty card cartoon too.
Space Invade in my kitchen made from tiles, Β£2.50 in a gallery thousands of quids because it's French borgeoise chic.
Cue L Roy Hubbard the urban prophet

Gonefellow π¬π§ Print Release β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by taz66 on Feb 23, 2018 13:11:05 GMT 1, oh dear,Β hope you acquire some good taste soonΒ Β Had a feeling a comment like this was coming. I welcome it, as everyone is definitely entitled to their opinion. All I can say is that I do not believe Gonefellow is Banksy, whatsoever, and that I like his prints. I think I've got a well-rounded ever-growing collection by now, and there's bound to be pieces in there that won't be liked by everyone. Hopefully I'll get a positive comment out of you someday! But for now, I'll enjoy my walls
Dont you just love people... great to be able to say what you want wiithout being crucified. Everyone has a view..may the force be with you

Gonefellow π¬π§ Print Release β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Poly Mindset on Feb 23, 2018 19:26:10 GMT 1, The terms graffiti/urban/streetart are shackled and restricted tbh, art is art, better an artist has freedom to express rather than fit in a box. You're correct, art is art. You are also correct every artist has freedom to express/follow/break rules. The terms graffiti/urban/streetart are shackled and restricted because history is important, and in order to respect or further this history you must pay attention to the history of the medium or category you work in. You can break rules, paint new work never seen before, or copy and be derivative its each artists prerogative. But what you can't do is just think you don't need to abide by any rules and are allowed to be part of something that has a rich history. Word up. Respect! Which is why my last purchases have been from an artist with a long history at his craft both in the street and in the studio. Really like what SEEN is doing with some of his latest releases. Tho they are getting harder to snag. I was lucky to get these on two different nights. Like the fact that they are a matching set. Keep it real.

Are there any documentaries about Seen and people like him?

He must have been one of the OG's before Banksy created the new wave. Are there any documentaries about Seen and people like him? He is one of the OG graffiti artists from NYC from back in the 70's and was painting trains long ago. There is tons of stuff about him on YouTube and there is more of his high end art available at Dirty Pilot Gallery as well as elsewhere. I like the fact that he has his own website and releases affordable cool stuff to collectors like me who may not have thousands to spend on a piece. However, you have to be quick because it does go fast. Usually he drops stuff between 10 pm and midnight PST a couple of times a week but that is hit and miss. You just have to keep watching. Good luck.
Word up. I don't know a lot about Seen. Good luck.

Gonefellow π¬π§ Print Release β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by james10 on Feb 24, 2018 4:42:20 GMT 1, I just dont get one thing about this Gonefellow/Andy diatribe, and i hope that with this post i will make myself clear enough as english is my third language
So many people here are complaining about the fact that the owner of a gallery is trying to promote an artist - and this already make no sense to me, cause he is just doing is job and apparently he is being very good at it.
In particular, people are complaining about the fact that Andy is playing around with the idea that there is somehow a connection between Gonefellow and Banksy. For some of them, Andy is just trying to rip people off selling pieces of paper with no value getting an advantage from this mysterious connection said above.
Now lets talk about "art", as this forum is supposed to be about it first. Art, in particular modern/urban art, is a very controversial and subjective matter. So you have people thinking that Gonefellow does sh**y works, others liking it. Putting it simple: you like it, you buy it. If you dont like it, you dont buy it.
If you buy it just because somebody might want you think that GF is somehow connected to Banksy, well that is at your own risk; but then, it is not about art anymore, as it turns to be about making a profit. Thus, if you buy it just cause Andy or members of this forum are playing with it, you are nothing different from those people (flippers) that gets slammered on this forum everyday.
So my question is, if people dont like it, why is everyone so worried about Gonefellow's art? If you dont like it, does it really matter for you if it is Banksy related or not? And why you are so eager to know who is Gonefellow and where he comes from?
If this info will change the way you value his art, then probably you arent any better than a flipper. And maybe those who just keep questioning/criticizing it are on the same boat.

Gonefellow π¬π§ Print Release β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Happy Go Lucky Chap on Feb 24, 2018 11:53:32 GMT 1, Ok folks, now that we know for sure that Gonefellow is not Banksy or Outis or anyone else, will someone please sell me their Graffiti Truck. There is no point in squirrelling these away in folios or plans chests - the prices are sure to plummet as they did for that Outis elephant.
