Gonefellow π¬π§ Print Release β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Deleted on Feb 22, 2018 15:02:04 GMT 1, Looking at this logically. Given Castle rely on and solely sell Banksy i would think Pest are last people whose feathers he would want to ruffle. Considering his reputation im sure he made certain that wasnt going to happen first.

Why would pc care about a gallery reselling banksy works. There are loads that do the same

Gonefellow π¬π§ Print Release β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Happy Shopper on Feb 22, 2018 15:27:12 GMT 1, The rumour was started by people 'policing'. I never seen a comment about this artist being Banksy. Yes he used images of Banksy, but so what? Banksy <and many other artists> used images from others. You can like or hate it, but that doesn't need policing. I like to think Pest would be the one policing in this matter, not 'us'. Again, you maybe haven't seen the whole history of this case. It's too long, and maybe subjective, to go into a long debate about again. Many instagram posts have been deleted, etc... but those who know, know. Know what I'm saying?

Again reread, add reseller, makes no difference. Emphasis is on why Castle would care not why Pest would.

Gonefellow π¬π§ Print Release β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by Lroy on Feb 22, 2018 17:53:05 GMT 1, Lot of people saying what they know on Gonefellow and Andybat Castle and all the hype. But letβs do this another way as I have not seen any hype. So why donβt people post examples of the hype!! As as far as I can see a lot of people shouting based on nothing. Do not see those that bought them shouting at all. If someone puts a price on the secondary market buy it or donβt. That will decide itβs price. Andy at Castle who I have bought a lot from has been nothing but honest with me and sound in all I have bought. I like others have asked him about pricing of secondary pieces that did not involve him and he always gave me the info So if you do not want to buy his releases do not. But very wrong to slag someone off based on your opinion that you have no factual evidence at all if itβs true or false either way. And, with humility, very very wrong to open a thread only to criticize Castle Gallery and Gonefellow, and to attack personnaly and hardly the persons that they are too ! Maybe some jealous gallery there under pseudos.. Maybe nothing. I dont understand the " you bought a Goneffelow to male money " ?! All my gonefellow are on the walls or will be Look, just received this today ! fabulous name ( I laugh in myself when the postman called me )

Gonefellow π¬π§ Print Release β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by moron on Feb 22, 2018 21:17:14 GMT 1, " When I put the question directly to Lyttleβis Gonefellow Banksy?βhe answered, βI donβt know Banksy, and I donβt know who Gonefellow is, but the guess would be noββa conclusion he drew from context clues in his conversations with the artist. And as for his comments on Urban Art Association: βI was really joking about it at that stage,β Lyttle says. Though, before then, he did have his suspicions. βI suppose at one point that I did believe to a degree, but I donβt now,β he says. βI donβt know why, but I just donβt.β
"The idea that Gonefellow could be Banksy has actually been floated before, on the forum Urban Art Association. Gonefellow was formerly an active member of the forum (even participating in the groupβs 2014 secret Santa), and it was there that he debuted a version of the Graffiti Truck image to some fanfare in September 2014, posting low-res versions of the image to print for free.
In August of that year, user @andy3636 wrote to Gonefellow regarding a project, adding βIf youβre actually Banksy lurking make sure you sign the bloody thing.β When Gonefellow disappeared from the forum sometime last year, commenters noted his loss. βSadly, Gonefellow is living up to his name,β user dr.Plip wrote, to which @castlegalleryni responded, βThatβs a shame i liked him, i think he was banksy.β (Thatβs right, @castlegalleryni aka Andy Lyttleβthe gallery owner who is now promoting Gonefellowβs work.) dr.Plip wrote back: βI too think he was Banksy. One of them at leastβ¦β
There you have it. Is the evidence enough to outweigh the fact that this whole thing seems a bit low-profile for Banksy? Not quite. But then, maybe thatβs the point? Maybe this really is a semi-elaborate scheme on the part of Banksy to reinvent himself outside of the art world spectacleβto sell art to directly to his true fans and sympathizers."

Gonefellow π¬π§ Print Release β’ Street Art β’ Art For Sale, by moron on Feb 22, 2018 21:43:50 GMT 1, I'm surprised Gonefellow hasn't hit a wall yet. One Gonefellow or anonymous stencil on a wall somewhere in urban land with "is it a Gonefellow stencil" mystery would propel Gonefellow prices into the Banksysphere.

One Gonefellow or anonymous stencil on a wall somewhere in urban land with "is it a Gonefellow stencil" mystery would propel Gonefellow prices into the Banksysphere. You might think that hitting a wall or actually painting outdoors would be the first step to becoming mentioned in the same breath as Banksy. Yet we have a similar version of Outis it seems by not saying something some naive collectors might buy into speculation. Maybe not Hype like Outis but definitely speculation as its worked in the past.

Since when did this scene become about following rules and doing whats expected?

Maybe not Hype like Outis but definitely speculation as its worked in the past. Since when did this scene become about following rules and doing whats expected? If you want to paint urban/graffiti/street art and use a spray can you should be expected to paint in the streets at some point. There is not written rules or code, but I doubt you get any respect from your peers if you don't attempt to paint in public either for yourself of for your peers. Many of us have painted over 2 decades in and outdoors broken many so called rules and adhered to many of them. There is no right and wrong, but respect isn't just given to artists because they use the medium of a stencil or spray can. Nothing against this artist but if anyone is to be compared to or associated with Banksy should do some on all mediums public and private. The fact that collectors don't understand this is concerning, but again if you are buying because its what you like more power to you.

The terms graffiti/urban/streetart are shackled and restricted tbh, art is art, better an artist has freedom to express rather than fit in a box.

You are also correct every artist has freedom to express/follow/break rules. The terms graffiti/urban/streetart are shackled and restricted because history is important, and in order to respect or further this history you must pay attention to the history of the medium or category you work in. You can break rules, paint new work never seen before, or copy and be derivative its each artists prerogative. But what you can't do is just think you don't need to abide by any rules and are allowed to be part of something that has a rich history.

The terms graffiti/urban/streetart are shackled and restricted because history is important, and in order to respect or further this history you must pay attention to the history of the medium or category you work in. You can break rules, paint new work never seen before, or copy and be derivative its each artists prerogative. But what you can't do is just think you don't need to abide by any rules and are allowed to be part of something that has a rich history.Β
Youre making assumptions about what you think the artist is thinking. I do like your passion and appreciate the effort/thought put into replys, its a nice change from c**t, co*k etc
