According to CYRCLE the exhibition dissects โthe timeless struggle of nations. In this case

America itself is a work in progress. Our work is a reflection of the way we are pushing for
a new world, and a society that thrives and feeds off of creativity and forward thinking.
Progression through evolution. More specifically, we are redefining the concept of America
and what it is to be an American. There is no I in the America we know - we spell it
AMERYCA, suggesting cooperation over competition.

shed light on the future. Capture the flag is an opportunity for us to question our place
in the world. Capturing the flag is freedom.โ

yeah I believe I heard recently there are plans to cut that Banksy off of the wall. There was a second one on the same building adjacent to that piece that was removed some time ago. Pretty unfortunate if it happens since that's one of only I think 3 (?) remaining Banksy's in the city.
el mac and retna are just on another level than everyone right now. They've got a bunch up all over the city together and they're all incredible, perfect blend.

I can't imagine it would command top dollar. Not one of the more known/iconic pieces, very very basic even for a Banksy, etc. I think sellers have some pretty lofty dreams about the value of some of his stuff. I'm sure many have gone unsold at auction because they were trying to squeeze every dime possible out of it and banking on people just throwing ridiculous sums of money because of the name association. I'd rather they just stay on the wall so people can enjoy it instead of being hacked off and winding up in someone's foyer as a trophy where nobody will ever see the thing again.

it's at RVCA's headquarters in Costa Mesa. Kind of way out of the way but it's a really nice piece, especially in person.

I know Black Apple Art had a separate thread for Dot Dot Dot's stuff he just did but I figured I'd add them in here too since I stopped by a few of them earlier. Also finally swung by Highland and got a shot of that MASSIVE wall Kobra did. When I was there last he was still working on it and I got to chat with him for a bit. Super impressive, such a gorgeous piece especially in person.

This first El Mac x RETNA one was hard to shoot since there's a big ass tree right in front of it so it was a tough angle. I have passed right by it a number of times and never noticed until I was actually on the hunt for it and even then I missed it at first.
Fintan Magee
and here's the other half of the El Mac x RETNA I put up a few posts ago. They're at a gas station separated by a car wash. That first half is right on the sidewalk and this one below is behind the car wash where the vacuums are.

Visit LOS ANGELES ๐บ๐ฒ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by bjornca on Mar 13, 2014 21:55:46 GMT 1, There are a number of galleries in Culver City (Corey Helford, Thinkspace, Lebasse (although seems like the consensus is not to buy from there), Blum + Poe), as well as a number of walls painted near those at Washington & National (Dabs, Lister, Hush, Herakut, Handiedan - some pictures of these in the LA Street Art thread). Some other walls around West Hollywood (the Retna and Shepard Fairey pieces on the West Hollywood library parking structure are huge). Several walls around Arts District downtown (4th Pl and Alameda to start; How & Nosm, Dabs, Seen, Risk, Retna, INSA).
Museums I'd recommend are the Getty Center (think they are showing Jackson Pollock Mural currently) or LACMA (currently have Calder and James Turrell exhibits).
Going to be dependent which area you are staying, so that you don't spend a lot of that free day stuck in traffic.

If you've got time and don't mind a little traffic I'd head over to the Arts District and check out the murals there. If I remember correctly Corey Helford Gallery/Circa is right up the street from Venice so thats definitely worth checking out.

Plus the food in downtown is fantastic if you're into that scene.
