Things to do in Kiev, by ashsummer on Oct 15, 2019 10:34:31 GMT 1, Ukraine is an awesome country. I was lucky to visit Lviv for more then 4 days and I was quite impressed. It's a lovely town, I was lucky to see how people celebrated Independence Day and it was a memorable experience. I walked around the old town with a guide who pointed out the main buildings and told me a lot of stories. If you want to feel true Ukrainian spirit, Lviv is a must visit city. Definitely Kyiv has a lot of things to offer too. You will have no language barrier asUkraine is receiving more and more international travellers every year, your chances to hear English there and/or meet an English-speaking person, if needed, are rather high. Try to address a younger person if you need help.To plan your trip more thoroughly, use travel apps travelsites.com/travel-guides-apps/ .

It's a smallish city by capital city standards, but lots of churches, the Podil district is lovely from memory.
Food is great.

My favorite was St. Volodymyr's Cathedral, it's many painted frescos were masterpieces I wasn't expecting to see. They are all worth a visit inside though. You'll likely hear live singing and witness traditional ceremonies.
