Anybody know what happened to the Banksy unsigned Girl With Balloon, I find the website difficult to follow the auction. Ok thanks I missed that post, but just found it. Not surprised it was damaged, I suspect the owner just wanted to move it and hoping someone would overlook the damage by not viewing the print in advance. I wasn't able to find a condition report on their website, it may have been readily available. |

ยฃ6000 plus 30% Buyers Premium by the looks of it.
Lazarides were selling canvases, or trying, from this Pirates series for double that, only last year.

But most of the items wouldn't have sold on eBay never mind adding a 30%+ buying fee on top.
Buyers now know what they want and will use top dollar to get it,
but this auction was dross central hoping that naive buyers would pay for that junk.
Seems like a wasted day for everyone involved. Except perhaps the buyer of the Holly Thoburns (Lot 501). Around 180 lots passed! ... Not for kicking an auction house when its down (ah go on then)... But most of the items wouldn't have sold on eBay never mind adding a 30%+ buying fee on top.
