Nick explained the auction process and made me completely at ease, and assisted with the dropping off of the item's at his home. Nick's valuations were spot on, and come auction day my art sold for very good prices!

My experience as a buyer was also very good at that auction in December.

Oh well. Chiswick was asking 25% fee plus taxes plus artist resale plus delivery. Would have liked to have had any or all of them, but not at what they wanted. I could have gotten a better deal on ebay on one of them at their minimum price plus fees!!!

With respect to anyone with items in the auction, it seemed like there was very little quality control and they'd happily accept anything. Of course there were some very nice pieces too, but a lot of stuff that would hardly be worth listing on eBay. The estimate on the Stiks was a bit of a joke, and whoever sold their GWRB for ยฃ36k today, minus seller fees, probably isn't very happy. Perhaps the condition was problematic. I did very much like the look of the Hera / Herakuts on paper. And some great Adam Neates in there too.
The GWRB print had water damage along the bottom edge BTW. I went to see it on Saturday.

I am not sure who estimated the pricing, but they seemed a little high as a lot of pieces went unsold even though there was bidding going on. Just not to the minimums apparently.
