Chiswick • Urban Art Auctions 🇬🇧, by elisajafa on Mar 24, 2021 10:45:05 GMT 1, irl1 Thanks ! You are right, all their other lots tell a story, a bad one 🤢. I will stay away from this auction, and all the similar ones. It's really incredible the number of auction sales that sells fakes artworks, it's better to have only faith in Christie's, Sotheby's, Phillips and Heritage.

Chiswick • Urban Art Auctions 🇬🇧, by rungsp on Apr 9, 2021 14:59:47 GMT 1, I bought a print at this auction, and after a mix up on their part Chiswick sent it to me in a tube.
On unpacking I find it in terrible condition: One long edge crumpled...now this is nearly 20 years old so perhaps I could just frame this out and live with it. But: A huge black scuffed area on a pure white area of the print. This was not on the image displayed for the lot.(and is not...the image is still on their auction results page).
The other edge is repeatedly torn with about a 3-5cm tear that is in the same place when rolled.
I have contacted them and await a reply.
I would hope/think that they would refund...but I didn't have a condition report, it was a rather impulsive buy. The lot description makes no mention of condition at all.
If they refund I assume I send it back and they resell in the future with a clear description (frankly it wasn't very expensive, so in bad condition I think it is effectively worth about £5)
Fingers crossed...

Chiswick • Urban Art Auctions 🇬🇧, by storm breaker on Apr 9, 2021 16:08:42 GMT 1, To be fair to Chiswick it may have been worth giving them a little time to respond before posting the issue here. I imagine lots of us have had prints arrive damaged in the past. At least give them a chance to respond.

Chiswick • Urban Art Auctions 🇬🇧, by rungsp on Apr 22, 2021 15:38:26 GMT 1, To follow on from my previous post about a damaged print from Chiswick.
It is only fair and right to say that Chiswick handled my problem perfectly.
Without hesitation they offered me a full refund, to include the cost of postage back to them.
They also said that they had a couple of other prints by the same artist, from the same seller and that they could offer me a swap to one of those if I preferred that. That was the solution I ended up going for, but it was all my choice.
Although the print was damaged, Chiswick really could not have done anything better to resolve it.
Well done to them, I would not hesitate to use them again.

Chiswick • Urban Art Auctions 🇬🇧, by astbury on Jun 11, 2021 7:29:24 GMT 1, It’ll be interesting to see what the Banksy do today. I’m pretty sure that the Grannies showed as having a 50k bid on the Chiswick site the other day so that will sell.

Those signed Hackney posters have shot up in value since the Sotheby's auction

Chiswick • Urban Art Auctions 🇬🇧, by JFCC on Jun 11, 2021 16:55:49 GMT 1, Not where I would go to sell but after that it is where I'd go to buy!!
Mid September prices again!!
NBG Grey £50k Hammer £67k all done Grannies £50k Hammer £67k all done Bomb Love £70k Hammer £94k all done - bargain of the day Happy Choppers £50k All done £67k VLH Hammer 342k All done £56k
There were unsurprisingly hardly any bids from the floor (none on the first three) and the auctioneer wasn't at all confident. I cannot believe VLH sold with no reserve.
No condition issues just the wrong place to sell...selling a Ferrari out of Fiat dealer!!
