Let Them Hang - Bristol street art, by letthemhang on Apr 20, 2007 15:40:36 GMT 1, As well as stencils, Bristol has always had pencils, paintbrushes, fades and fat caps...
A generation of artists including the TCF Crew, Mudwig and Sickboy didn't make stencils, but gave the city their thorough attention throughout the 90's and beyond. At the same time, others like Mr Jago, Will Barras and China Mike used pen, paint and paper to develop their influential freehand styles - Banksy was out blasting the streets with ingenuity and sincerity (backed up by his straightforward mass-production and of course the occasional burner).
There's much more to any iceberg than it's tip. If you want to learn more about those that made their marks in this town, visit us for links, news of exhibitions and prints for sale at:

Let Them Hang - Bristol street art, by letthemhang on Apr 22, 2007 11:36:20 GMT 1, Alright - looks like the mighty Lion has got a petition arising here! We'll see if we can coax him out of his ink-spattered den on special ops for us, but don't hold your breath, he's still got to find the time to rule Narnia.
Thanks all for the props, avatar, and acknowledgement of our excellent homepage manners...
Following the Xenz Gold Rush, we've got new stuff arriving from China Mike and Mr Jago, and will also be adding some canvasses soon. Catch new work from Will Barras back here in Bristol, on the walls of the Wonderful Workshop (until June 1st).

Let Them Hang - Bristol street art, by letthemhang on Jun 8, 2007 0:00:54 GMT 1, Look - just because there's free booze, that's no reason to expect the artists to be there.
Of course they'll be there, some of 'em anyway.

Let Them Hang - Bristol street art, by jellya on Jun 21, 2007 16:52:47 GMT 1, Finally got to see the Let Them Hang exhibts at Severnshed. The Xenz special editions are beautiful. I don't think their new owners are going to be the slightest bit disappointed when they arrive!
Someone mentioned how good the new Dicy prints are. They are! There's one in particular that looks like someone pulling their hair out, but it's an x-ray of that, with lots of ooze coming out. ;D Difficult to describe but great at £60. 2 versions, different colour ooze. I could do with a photo I think ... ;D

Let Them Hang - Bristol street art, by weeble on Jun 22, 2007 0:10:07 GMT 1, I agree Jellya, the Dicy prints looked sweet. I don't think they are up on LTH though are they? Anyways, there are some Dicy prints there of cranes which I thought looked stunning and superb quality, only I thought they looked a touch too small, don't know, unsure, but they looked flipping ace.

Let Them Hang - Bristol street art, by letthemhang on Jun 22, 2007 12:44:50 GMT 1, This print from Dicy has unofficially been called 'Graffiti On The Brain'.. There is a bit of X-Ray in there, yeah. I know it's hard to see it, but we'll have it up for you to have a proper look real soon. There is one on display at the Severnshed at the moment for anyone in Bristol who wants to take a look now.
