I just joined the forum as am very confused. I was given the 'Monkey Queen' unsigned edition in 2003 and want to check that it is a real original copy and not a fake. On Ebay.co.uk right now there are a number of these selling, and I need to know which ones are fake and which are real.
On Ebay some are numbered on the print itself, in the black bit of the image, whereas others are signed in the bottom right hand corner in the white border of the picture and not on the image itself.
Which is an official one? Also be very careful on Ebay as I swear two of those selling right now are not real copies.
The one I have was from 2003 which makes me think it must be genuine as who would've made copies that fast? I don't see why anyone back then would've bothered. Also I think mine is signed in pencil. Is this correct?
I've called Picturesonwalls today but they can't help me to work out if mine is a real copy until 2 weeks time due to them being so busy with shipping the current Banksy print... so if anyone knows now it would be put my mind to rest much faster!

They were signed at different times as and when needed, as the prints didn't sell as quickly back then, so numbers and signature in different places

Not true, the edition is of 750 with ANY 150 in there signed. It's the old PoW method of numbering.

ive got a monkey queen signed that i want to sell. i bought it through a mutual friend of Banksy in 2003. it isnt numbered, and the singature is on the back of the print. it just says "a/p Banksy 03"... no tag or stamp on there either. i know this is totally authentic as the source is a college friend of Banksy .. although cant see this type on the descritiptions at the top of this thread.
any advice about selling this little nugget much apprciated. id obviously rather not have to sell but thats life innit...
