New Faile print this week, by adewilliams on Apr 12, 2018 11:51:51 GMT 1, They have turned down lucrative galleries (including Gagosian), so that they remain in charge of their artistic direction.... and be able to freely experiment. Their museum shows have been fantastic, their recent show in Paris was extraordinary.... Put a Faile on your wall... you won't regret it! great post, had no idea they turned down Gagosian
cheers,

New Faile print this week, by Greyhound on Apr 12, 2018 13:48:23 GMT 1, I love Faile, and have a fair few of their low editions on my walls. I'm really happy that this year they've chosen to go back to low-edition, hand-finished work. This image is not for me, but when I showed it to my girlfriend she loved it and declared it their best work in years
I love that they have a broad appeal, and that every piece is not for every fan. I'm sure people will snap these up.

New Faile print this week, by rambo901 on Apr 12, 2018 14:58:11 GMT 1, I'm undecided on whether I really like it. I think it may be far nicer in person. Regardless, I 100% know I don't like it enough to replace what's on my wall

New Faile print this week, by Faile 313 on Apr 12, 2018 16:08:59 GMT 1, I dig the use of the upside down 'Happy Home' image and the receipt numbers from 'I used to be worth something' in the background.
I'm excited to see how many variants are included in the 20.
Can anyone identify all the riders?

New Faile print this week, by nobokov on Apr 12, 2018 16:36:09 GMT 1, Is it just me or does it feel like every new release is just a recycled image from several years ago? I'm a fan and have a number of prints, but I'd like to see something new.

(I think this is a relatively new image though)

I'm a fan and have a number of prints, but I'd like to see something new. their shows at Springmann Gallery, LSC and Magda Danysz Gallery were all filled to the brim with either new work, or exploring new mediums. The one at Gordon Gallery was about half new, half old but done in a new way.
Maybe for prints, you're right. But for originals, I don't believe so.

New Faile print this week, by artnerd on Apr 12, 2018 19:35:51 GMT 1, Really nice discussion here. First I'd like to agree, that if you follow Faile deeply, there was a lot of new stuff in the last year mixed with cool old stuff. Faile with Aiko was great and pushed it really, but there were really stunning shows even in the last years e.g. the Dallas show. The new stuff presented at Springmann in Berlin wasn't not my personal favourite style of Faile. But I think they are trying a bit and we have to stay tuned what comes out next. I own several Failes, but I skipped nearly every last print release. I think they actually don't have the right hand/feeling to choose the good motives for a print release. There have been released so many good Faile book covers the last years. I'd like to go further in this discussion, but this would fill up to my space and take to much time this evening. Last, this motife might be important for Faile as they say it in the newsletter, but in my opinion it not really a strong one.

New Faile print this week, by RBK on Apr 12, 2018 19:40:31 GMT 1, Faile spoil their fans with works across different price ranges... especially still producing annual works at the lower end ...ie 150 series, show prints, patches, etc. People complain when artists get too expensive (successful), and thus inaccessible to many. These lower price works, should not be compared to the hand finished prints, paintings, works on wood, puzzle boxes, crates, etc .... they are not created equal!! I don't like all Failes ...or all Banksy's, or all Harland Miller's, or all Invader's..... but I do love their overall body of work. Unlike many others, Faile are not one trick ponies and they have stood the test of time. They have turned down lucrative galleries (including Gagosian), so that they remain in charge of their artistic direction.... and be able to freely experiment. Their museum shows have been fantastic, their recent show in Paris was extraordinary.... Put a Faile on your wall... you won't regret it! PREACH!!! AMEN.

1000% agree. Definitely one of my favourite artists and probably the one I emotionally connect with the most.

On the nose perhaps, but clumsy...?
I liked it the brooklyn museum, it was my favorite new image then. i like that there is now a home version
