Wanted - David Shrigley - I am currently on fire, by funtime on Mar 21, 2018 9:45:45 GMT 1, Amazing how many of these were bought to flip by forum members! Just to add, as I’ve already had one person asking gallery prices, the last one sold on here a few weeks ago at cost, and only a week ago on eBay one went for £1271 (and had it not been for my bid, would have gone for £1201).
Preferably looking for someone that didn’t buy with the sole intention of making a packet out of a forum member. I don’t mind paying more than cost, but given hang up have been sitting on theirs since the print was released and can’t shift it for £1995, I’m not going to be paying anywhere near that.
Thanks.

Wanted - David Shrigley - I am currently on fire, by sircoxson on Mar 21, 2018 9:57:14 GMT 1, bought to flip?
do you think it's a bad thing to sell sth that - for whatever reasons had to go - was offered at cost?
have you ever offered a print/an original at cost at this forum?

Sorry, I can’t understand what you’re trying to say.
Anyway, no of course I don’t have a problem with people selling a print for more than they’ve paid for it, but it does become a bit frustrating when you try and buy a print to frame and enjoy and it sells out to people who have bought it purely on a speculative basis. We’re talking about a print that was released only 2 months ago, starting at £600, and one person has asked £1900 for theirs.
I haven’t offered a print on this forum for sale at cost, no, but that because I only buy prints to send to the framers and hang on my wall. I’m not saying they should be offered at cost, I was just pointing out that the last one did sell on here at cost, and on eBay for just over cost, so the market value of these isn’t much more than that (if any) right now.
Believe it or not, I don’t love the print, but want it to hang next to my ‘another task for you’.
Thanks

I did not understand your initial sentence: "Amazing how many of these were bought to flip by forum members!"
how does that match to one sale at cost on the forum and one on ebay for near cost?
"currently on fire" was available for quite some time at source after release. why didn't you buy it earlier if you hate the game so much? the fast sell out of this very print just happened during the "be nice" frenzy...

Because Sircoxson, I have been offered no less than 5 prints within 9 hours of putting my post up. Only 1 of those stated what they were after for the print, a laughable £1900, and the others have all asked how much I am willing to pay or ‘what is the maximum I’m willing to pay’.
I don’t hate the game so much at all, happy to pay ‘market rate’ - but as you rightly point out, this print was still available at source until not so long ago, and The last few haven’t sold for much more if any that cost.
I didn’t buy it at souce because I was looking for a ‘another task for you’ first. Simple.
I’m not sure why you’re getting at me when you’re the only one who very clearly didn’t buy to flip and offered your print at cost!

Currently was released first tier was £480 (if memory serves) rising to £950 towards the end and available for ages, then £1200 up on Jealous website for weeks. It ended on £2500 we've the release of Be Nice whose final tier is £6000.
The hangup Currently was £2.2k which looks to be sold.
Things sell at market value, would you expect to pay 250k for a 500k house because a member of your "Urban House Forum" paid 248k.
Ps. There is life outside this forum. The fact that you think the fleabay sales are all forum members is...well..silly.

I’m losing interest in this already, but just to correct you on a couple of points:
The one at Hang up isn’t sold, it had been sitting on their website incorrectly priced at £1195, until I bought it yesterday. They then emailed me to say that there was a pricing glitch and it should have been £2195, but offered it to me then at £1995. The refund is still going through which I imagine is why it says it’s sold.
Your house example makes no sense, I’m not tryin to buy something for half what it’s worth.
I know there’s life outside the forum, and the reason for listing the eBay sale is exactly to point that fact out. I never suggested it was a forum member.
Thanks for the helpful post though

“Afford” doesn’t even come into it. It’s what it’s worth to me that will govern what I want to pay for it.
Anyway, I have a couple at sensible money now so you can go and be helpful somewhere else now.
Thanks

Why are they double price just because they are A/Ps? Isn't it essentially the same print? Good news there is one on ebay you maybe able to use your charm and negotiate them to a price that is a agreeable to you. Good luck.
